Shark
So you think Kate should be pissed and try to stop Jack, but you argued with me over Jin stopping Jack even though it wipes out his child and destroys his redeemed relationship with Sun.
Think the old logic circuits need to be replaced.

I don't blame Kate for not wanting the plane to land so she can avoid jail. Just don't give Jack that "but I'll never fall in love with you then" look.

Anyone who remembers what happened in the cabin when Locke pointed his flashlight at the rocking chair knows that Jacob, in whatever form he may manifest himself as, is very real.
Anyone have the still shot of this scene? I remember it floating around and it looked very much like Locke.
I think Locke is Jacob

It looked like Locke with long hair.... If I remember right. The face resembled Locke the most

But I do know that Sawyer has fricked things up as leader. That "I don't react, I think" hasn't worked out too well. He handled the Sayid problem poorly, the Ben problem poorly, and now all this poorly. People will point things were fine before Jack, arrived, but things weren't exactly surprise-free when Jack wasn't running the show
Sawyer himself hasn't really screwed up yet. Everything bad that has happened has been because others refused or were unable to follow his instructions. If Sayid had knocked Sawyer out like he told him to, then everything would probably be alright. If Jack did the surgery, then he wouldn't have had to have gone into the jungle to risk everything. If Miles had erased the tape like he was told, then Phil wouldn't have found the tape and had to knock him out. If Kate, Jack, and Faraday followed Sawyer's instruction, then they would have had time to gather their things and get out of there.
Everything that has happened is hardly Sawyer's fault. Its just Jack would make up stupid plans and they would backfire tremendously, which is obviously going to happen again. If everyone listened to Sawyer, everything would be alright right now. Sawyer's been getting the raw deal and his subordinates, not him, have been fricking up.

I'm just saying Jin may think that he may never be able to reunite with Sun again unless he presses the "reset button" by using the bomb. That may mean more to him than preserving the life of his child he has never met. Plus he could figure he could make more babies anyway by way of artificial insemination.
Kate though is screwed either way this goes down. She's either dead, or she's in jail. I think something besides 1 of those 2 options will happen, but those are the only 2 logical options to Kate of what will happen if Jack sets off the bomb.

Agreed. Something rare in LOST, I just think it was bad writing for Kate in that episode.

You keep forgetting that the Island brought Jin and Sun back together. If the plane lands, there is a good chance she leaves him at some point. Their relationship was pretty messed up but the time on the Island rekindled their love.
I just don't buy your theory of Jin since he told Locke to make sure Sun NEVER came back to the Island. I don't see him killing his child and going back to a loveless relationship. I also don't see him buying some cockamamie theory that blowing up the Island and killing everyone will make things peachy keen.

Agreed.... No way Kate, Sawyer, Juliette, or Jin allow this to happen.
They all are better off now than they were pre crash.

I think the bomb will go off, but these guys will certainly try and stop it. Jack though does have a keen ally who can take all 4 of these people out: Sayid. I'm thinking in all likelihood Jack will directly cause the Incident, and the Incident will transport them into the present (2007). I'm guessing time travel will mostly be over after this season.

I tried to steer things toward Locke/Ben/Richard/Jacob.
I come back and everything's now squarely "Jack/Kate" or "Sun/Jin".

So the final season will have nothing to do with the island???
If the bomb goes off the plane never crashes and they dont remember anything

I don't think that the bomb will stop the Incident at all. I think it IS the Incident, or it directly causes it. And I don't think it will exactly be an atomic reaction. I think the electromagnetism will do at least something to the effects of the bomb to where it wouldn't kill everyone on the Island, just be very devastating. The timeline is still the same as a result.

The bomb will probably kill nothing. The energy and the electromagnetic pulse will be absorbed by the Island and start firing off pulses which Dharma will need to stop with the button pushing.
So Jack will have caused the whole thing. Thus they will still be on the island. They will be jumping through time again, only to stop when Dharma start pushing the button.

By the way guys, Michael Emerson said that this is the single greatest episode of LOST ever (better than "Through the Looking Glass") and that it has 2 WTF moments on par with the flashforward reveal from TTLG (I'm guessing its one WFT moment from each time period). Its going to be awesome, and I really hope its as good as Emerson says it is.

How about this?
SPOILER: Kindof... it was seen in the episode preview
The preview from last week had richard breaking down a wall... i presume jacob is behind said wall... seems like they have jacob captured but not in the cabin unless a cabin is hiding behind that wall.
