Someone said the Others could get back to what they do. What is it that the Others do?

I think this is the guy playing Jacob.

I thought this thread was supposed to be spoiler-free until after the episode airs.

By the way, didn't Jacob speak to Locke in the cabin? Why would Locke now want to show he doesn't exist? I think Locke really plans to kill him.

Anyone who remembers what happened in the cabin when Locke pointed his flashlight at the rocking chair knows that Jacob, in whatever form he may manifest himself as, is very real.

I'm more interested in whether Jacob has somehow been imprisoned in the cabin: remember the black powder that was sprinkled around the cabin and Jacob's plea "Help Me." Maybe Locke is going to the cabin to "liberate" Jacob...and the only way to do this may be to kill him. But who really knows at this point? I just want some real answers in the finale.

One can only hope.

There's only one season left after this and a shite-ton of unanswered questions. I don't know if there will be enough episodes left to answer it all.

When Locke tells Ben that he intends to "kill" Jacob, I'm almost certain that (whether or not he's serious), it was intended to cause Ben to do or say something based on that information in a future episode. I also think that Locke already knows what Ben's reaction will be to this little bit of information he shared with him.

Since Locke has arrived back on the island, he's made it a point to shed light on Ben & his relationship with the island. Now, this could be due to him exacting revenge on Ben for his death. However, I prefer to believe that Locke has some kind of insight (how, we don't know yet other than the obligatory "The island told me...). I think that Locke is, as an aside, showing how relatively unimportant Ben's role has been in all this, where Ben likes to make people think that he's pulling the strings behind the scenes. I believe Locke is slowly revealing Ben for what he is: A sad man whose only "pleasure" is derived from overstating his importance and acting as a "leader".

Also, when Locke uses the word "kill" in reference to Jacob, the word has more than just its superficial connotation. Could he simply be intending to "kill" the myth of Jacob? Or could it be that, if there really is a Jacob, he intends to "kill" the mystery surrounding him...or perhaps "kill" the importance surrounding him....or even "kill" the Others' belief in his supremacy?

frick it...who knows?

I told my 8-year old son yesterday that, upon reaching high school, the entire series will be required viewing for him whether he likes it or not.

So how is Jack going to frick this up? He'll have to cause the incident somehow right?

Yeah, its going to be deliciously ironic that Jack is indirectly responsible for the plane crashing in the first place. Sayid's going to probably be even more pissed off that he assisted Jack since he actually was going to have a pretty decent life after the plane landed.

And I don't know if Jack's plan to undue everything is right. But Kate's act that "if we undue everything, we wouldn't have fallen in love" has got to go. That bitch just doesn't want to go to jail.

I don't really blame her though. I'd be doing the same damn thing.

But I do know that Sawyer has fricked things up as leader. That "I don't react, I think" hasn't worked out too well. He handled the Sayid problem poorly, the Ben problem poorly, and now all this poorly. People will point things were fine before Jack, arrived, but things weren't exactly surprise-free when Jack wasn't running the show

I have to agree with this 100%. Because of how bad the situation is Jack is doing what he thinks is right which, according to Daniel(who has been right about a lot) will take away all that has happened.
