I've always thought that, given the 1 scene where we're led to believe that we see Jacob, that (should he really exist), he's being held against his will somehow.

I was thinking that Jacob was behind the wall, or that behind the wall was the pocket of energy and Richard was releasing it to save the island.

Theory:

I almost don't want to post this, because I really am convinced this is true.

Either this season, or (more likely) the very last episode, will end with the very first scene in the show: Jack waking up in the jungle, seeing Vincent, and then getting up and running to the wreckage.

Observe:

It has long been a mystery as to how Jack woke up in that particular spot, in the middle of the jungle, disoriented and away from the rest of the survivors. How did he end up there? The very first scene is presumably one of the biggest unanswered questions on the show.

A big clue to this mystery happened this season: Jack woke up in the middle of the jungle, in very similar circumstances, when they flashed out of the Ajira Airlines plane.

Cuse and Lindelof have said several times they think the show will come "full circle" by the end.

Jack flashed to that spot in the very first scene.

What do you think?

Theyve said that there is something in the Pilot episode that will show that they knew where this was going the whole time.

I still wanna know what the secret was that Locke told Walt on the beach while playing backgammon

Ummm, that he was paralyzed before he came on the island. Pretty obvious.

Ummm so you think.... I dont think there is anything in this show that is "obvious".

I do think it comes full circle and we get to see the actual crash and then what Locke said

Sometimes there are. Trust me. This isn't a mystery.

I'm still sticking with the x+y=3 theory and that Faraday was so crazy he made himself believe his own crap he knew to be untrue.

Oh and I almost forgot:

Froman,

Go f**k yourself for posting that picture in a non-spoiler thread you douche. If you wanted so badly to proclaim that you knew what actor was signed on to play Jacob, then start a separate topic on it. The majority of the people on these weekly threads don't want to know what happens beforehand. And the ones that do want to know still show the common courtesy not to try to ruin any surprises for us in these threads.

So without further ado:

I don't blame Kate for not wanting the plane to land so she can avoid jail. Just don't give Jack that "but I'll never fall in love with you then" look.

Agreed. Something rare in LOST, I just think it was bad writing for Kate in that episode.

i don't think it was bad writing. it was just a way for kate to manipulate jack.

jack doesn't have much to lose if things go back to normal. kate has everything to lose. she just thinks it would be easier for jack to make this decision based on his own feelings.

I don't think it will end like this (I have no other reason than the fact that I think it will be unsatisfying so it could be but I doubt it and hope not) but I don't know if you are familiar with the Xbox 360 LOST video game but ....

***LOST VIDEO GAME SPOILER***

It ended just like that.

It was centered on a character that was not on the shows and kind of had his own story line going on at the same time as all the stuff on the show. It started out with him waking up on the island just like Jack (close-up on his eye, in the middle of the jungle, etc) and then going through his own adventures while occasionally interacting with LOSTies and others.
Well, when that was all said and done, the game ended just like you described above. I think he was on a boat or something trying to leave the island then flashed back to waking up in the jungle just like the beginning - then the game ended.

I didn't like that ending on the game either - please don't end the show that way

Edit: Actually I take it back, it doesn't end exactly like that. I went back and watched it on YouTube and, while there is a loop and he ends up back at the crash, his girlfriend who was previously dead, is now alive. I don't remember if her body was on the plane like Christian's was or if it was something totally new that she was there (i.e. a totally new timeline). The newly alive girlfriend does not act like she thinks it's weird to be alive (ala Locke on the beach) so who knows what (if anything) it means.

Also, just skip the shitty game mechanics on that clip and go to the story
