I considered myself a full adult at age 26 and remember thinking it took me longer than most. My Father was an adult by 20. This generation is fricked in every single way. They are the first post-America generation; they live in a shitty, social-conforming, Marxist cultural construct and it's going to SUCK harder and harder the more normal shite they never get to experience. Normal relationships between the sexes, marriage, not being entitled, not experiencing non-materialism, not being able to afford homes, living among judgmental, finger wagging Karens, etc. ad nauseum.

I have never talked personally to anyone of that generation that does not think they got fricked. Because they did. If they want it back, they will have to destroy their phones, embrace RISK, and reenter public spaces and STOP CONFORMING. Abandoning social media should be priority one.

Appreciate it

It really is a different time. I grew up in a really great neighborhood (I don’t mean it was a country club, I mean it was really nice as a child because it was clean, safe, and family friendly) and while my parents spent money adding onto the house and making it nicer, they bought it in Baton Rouge for $93k.

Think about that. A home in a good neighborhood for 93k. Wild

Brimley lived to 85. Let’s see if Rudd makes it.

It felt late in Louisiana, but seems early in Houston. I was 28 for my first (5 year old). We've met parents whose oldest is also 5 years old, but they are 5-10 years older than me and it seems like that's more of the theme versus people our age having kids in late 20s.

Ive seen a bunch of these and they're usually tongue in cheek. Something like the mom and dad with a house and 3 kids at 24, vs 24 year old kid making memes on the internet or whatever.

Yeah, they're usually self deprecating.

No but my parents love to make passive aggressive comments like “you were 6 when we were your age” at family functions

My dad tried that once at a family function at his parents house. My smart arse brother was already out of the house and busted out, yea and you knocked up mom while y'all were in high school, she didn't get to finish, and we grew up in poverty. I'm good with where I'm at... Met his wife in college, married a few years after, waited a few more years and had their 1st kid when they were in their early 30s

My mom had 3 kids by the time she was 25.

I was 33 when we had ours, my wife was about to turn 30. My older brother was 10 years old when my mom was 30, and I was 6

But, my wife didn't finish school until she was 26, my mom was done at 20 and didn't really pursue a career. Times are just different nowadays with dual income houses, essentially mandatory undergrad, preferred graduate school, etc... It feels like it would be really hard to start a family in your younger 20's in today's society.

I haven’t seen any, but I recently made a collage of my mom and I at roughly the same age, to see how I compared. Not gonna post it anywhere, though. Nobody cares but me.

At 28, my parents owned a house in Laplace. At 28, I owned a house in Metairie. I'd say I'm doing alright. Not married tho.
