Been going to Dauphin Island the last 10 years for the same reasons. Low key, no crowds and plenty of space to fish etc...

We went there once about 10 or so years ago. I had honestly never heard of that place. We had a great time.
When we arrived, there was some kind of monster saltwater fishing tournament going on the first two days we were there. Busy as hell. After that was over, it was like they evacuated the place. Haha. It was so nice and quiet.
We had a great time there.

The Audubon Bird Sanctuary is pretty cool. It was nice to see some different species that I can't see here in Tennessee.
