I was wrecking shite in college intramural sports, partying like a madman and having the time of my life. Great times. Got married in '85 so it all came to a halt.

I went a couple of times. My parents have a picture of me wearing white tennis shorts, a cut off nike shirt (the kind that came cut off), pulled up calf socks and nike turf cleats with an Atlanta Braves trucker hat. I was 11.
84 was pretty fricking bad arse.

This was the year Nintendo came out. I had a buddy get one. We spent the entire summer trying to beat Mario brothers.

Still a twinkle in my father's eye, meaning, swimming around in his balls.

I was a teenager at the time. Our family took a 2 week vacation to the Rockies and Yellowstone. I was on top of Pikes Peak July 4,1984 and it was snowing.

I was 15 and had just gotten my driver's license (back then you could get your license at 15).
On Saturday nights every other weekend or so, some of us would get together at a friend's house and "camp out" in his parents' camper. I would drive over in my dad's truck, we would then tell his parents I had to bring the truck back and my friend would ride down the levee on his 3-wheeler (most ATVs hadn't moved to 4 wheels at that time) to pick me up at the house then bring me back.
What was really going on was that I was stashing the truck in an old barn just down the road (my parents would need only one vehicle as they would both be playing golf all day Sunday). We would wait there about 20 minutes then ride back to his house on his 3-wheeler. We would hang out in/around the camper bullshitting and listening to the Bocephus greatest hits tape until we figured his parents were asleep (usually by 10pm), then head down to where the truck was stashed and go into town.
There was a bar/liquor store where you had to be only tall enough to put money on the counter to buy liquor. We would stop by there and pick up some drinks then head to wherever the people who were still out had gathered (often out of town along the river or back in the woods). We would roll back in around 3am-4am then sleep late as frick.

New Orleans World's Fair in 84
Posted on 2/29/24 at 12:26 pm to SaintlyTiger88
I was 8 years old and living in the wonderful metropolis of New Iberia, LA. Like others have said I do remember going to the World's Fair in NOLA that summer.
This was before the popularity of the New Iberia haircut so I'm sure I had a nice shaggy 80's bowl cut and roamed the streets of my neighborhood with my friends until after dark...Very safe and good times.
