Kick it. Then you can decide whether or not to go for 2 and the win, if you score another TD.
But then you only get one chance to win or lose. The Buccs missed it but still didn’t lose by going for it first.

-8 margin after the TD says you go for 2 every time after halftime.

math fails every time 100% of the time with regards to momentum -
Well momentum in sports isn't a thing so there's that

the fade just seems like a lazy predictable play call always

If being good at math meant jack shite in football then Georgia tech would kick georgias arse every year

Momentum is definitely a thing in sports.

So you DON'T understand

The problem often with these analytics is it requires you and your opponent to do the expected thing every time over a large sample of games before you would even see any sort of significant advantage.

There has been some research done that suggests there may be some quantifiable effect of momentum in football.
But other types of momentum, like the hot hand in the NBA or something, is patently false.

The science is certainly mixed overall. To definitively say that it is a thing isn't proven. And it certainly is WAY overblown.

Yeah I understand why people think it’s real - I played sports too - but it just isn’t readily apparent in the data. Most examples of momentum are cherry picked and can be easily explained by random chance.

It's proved because sports is played by people who are human.
Ask Freud. Being insecure, as humans are, can lead to performance failure... When the opponent shocks your ego...and the tables get turned and dominoes fall.

But the actual performance of those people doesn’t really verify it.
Momentum swings all the time. If it was real it wouldn’t be so fluid.

Seems to me that the math, probabilities, says to kick.
The math says to go for 2

If Evans comes back to the ball he would have gotten the flag. No effort.

Super ironic when the winning coach, Dan Campbell, would’ve absolutely made the same exact decision. You’d know that if you watched Lions games all year.

quote:Simplified a good but but kicking 2 XPs gets you to OT. Logically you just played 4 even quarters so you're pretty darn close to 50/50 to win the game in OT by kicking the 2 XPs
Can you educate me? Hey “math” are you going off of?
Going for 2:
- make the 1st one 50% of the time, you win
- Miss 1st and 2nd 25% of the time, you lose
- Miss 1st and make 2nd to get to OT 25% of the time.
So you're above 50% if you go for 2. Again, that's the very simplified version
