The only time my wife puts things in the sink or the dishwasher is when I’m not done using them. What she calls “help,” I call “gtfo my kitchen”.

This is the way.

I clean as I cook. I won't sit down to eat until the cooking dishes/utensils are done.

I clean as I go. When we sit for dinner it’s all done. My wife lets the dishes pile up. Then washes after. I hate that approach.

Depends on the meal. If it’s something that has to sit in the oven or simmer on the stove a for a bit then yeah I’ll clean up while that’s cooking.

The idea of whoever cooks the other cleans will not work for me. My wife made a PBJ sandwich. I look over and there are 3 knifes. I said really.

She said one for pb, one for jelly, and another to cut it.

My husband cleans after dinner. When I’m cooking for a challenge and making an absolute mess, he cleans as I go. I like him. I do.

I also clean, but rarely while I’m cooking.

I will admit that I do wash my knives immediately after I finish using them. Dry them, quick pass on the steel and into the knife drawer they go.

Taking a while to train the family using this method. For a while, one of them would come thru in the middle of cooking and drain the water.

Uh, I wasn’t done with that. Aggravating.

I clean as I cook. My wife (no pics) and it drives me nuts. The kitchen looks like someone dumped the garbage can out on the counter after she is done cooking.

My wife is absolutely terrible at cleaning as she goes, we fight about it constantly. Boil noodles and she gets 3 pans dirty the pot, the collander, and the serving dish.

My wife has the same issues. She can use three cutting boards in preparing one meal. She can use six pots to make three bowls of pasta.

I use two pretty often. One for meat, and one for everything else.
