re: Don't hit water meter cover with mower - roobedoo
Yes, it really is a good design. I was thinking bent rods and valves but it is just a little rectangle piece of stock. It is like your timing belt. If it goes motor does not know how to run. ...

Don't hit water meter cover with mower - roobedoo
So I hit the water meter cover by the street and mower shuts off. I took a pretty good chunk out of the hard rubber cover. Fearing the worst I pulled the cord and it started. It shut down after about a minute, started up again but only ran for seconds. Long story short sheared the flywheel k...

re: Who has hiked Crested Butte to Aspen - roobedoo
2.5 to 3 hrs, I was thinking 6 to 7, especially when taking time to enjoy the scenery. I get the afternoon thunderstorms that develop so you do not want to be at altitude during that. Has anyone actually hiked it? Thanks ...

Who has hiked Crested Butte to Aspen - roobedoo
I really want to do this hike but would like to get thoughts from someone who has actually done it. I know it is around 11 miles over Maroon Pass and have read blogs and reviews but would appreciate the input from the OT based on personal experience. I am 51, not bad shape and will definitel...

re: The second pirogue build is on - roobedoo
For me, the experience was as important to me as the boat. It was awesome to see a stack of flat plywood turn into boats that will be treasured for years. If Fish does decide to do this again in the Spring, I would try to make it if it is possible. Attempting to build one from plans will not co...

re: The second pirogue build is on - roobedoo
Just wow!! I will have to take a pic of mine with my cell phone from 30 yards on a cloudy day so you do not see the hammer marks and bent nails!! Would not trade it for anybody's!!! Have two coats of primer and base paint on it, trying to figure out how to ultimately finish it. I like ...

re: Fishfighter river run - roobedoo
I read a few blogs where guys covered 30 miles in a day. The current should push you pretty good so I am not sure how much paddling is required. It certainly will depend on the flow at the time. My initial thought was for a get together of the pirouge builders to make some kinda run. May...
