Great episode.

When they are walking down the residential street in Manchester with the Full Blue Moon rising above it was beautiful. (I say that as a 10+ year Man City fan)

I have no idea what was going on with Rebecca and Bex and the young girl. I’ve completely forgotten who they are. A little help?

That was his former pixie dream assistant. Methinks Bex is in the know about the inappropriate workplace relations alluded to in last show and they want advice on how to blow up Rupert.

I actually really loved learning about Beard as well as Ted and his mother in the kitchen.

I also sort of love that Roy obviously wants some of that mothering himself...

Man they’ve knocked these last few episodes out of the park.

My only gripe is not knowing why Nate stepped down but at this point I’m somewhat okay with not knowing.

Roy with Jamie’s mom was fricking great

Also surprised they got pep for this episode.

I stopped to pour another drink before the match, glad I did.

So I'd imagine after that, it's obvious Ted is going back to be with his son.

My question is, does he coach the last game? Or does he bounce before and pull another "Dr. Sharon" on the team? Letting Nate, Roy, and Beard coach the finial game?

He doesn't quit. I can't imagine he wouldn't, but then again it would certainly be a curveball.

I feel like this last episode might be 1.5 hours the way they’re heading

That episode was fantastic!
Loved Beards story to Nate, Jaime was amazing

Only thing I couldn’t figure out was if Jaime’s dad died or not?

I challenge the usual posters who have been bitching about every episode to say anything bad about that episode.

Did I imagine this, or was Nate’s hair getting darker as the episode progressed. Mainly noticed it in the scene with Beard.

This show and most of this episode still has some cartoonishly corny parts and storylines, but holy hell it can hit you in the feels at parts. The last 15 minutes of this episode were unreal

Jamie gets the glory, but lets not forget about the goalie. Van Damme he's good. Always like hearing Arlow and Chris during the matches.

Yeah I do agree with that. However, after watching him talk about missing his son I could see him writing everyone a letter and leaving early like Dr. Sharon. I don't want that to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Or, he brings his son, and his ex-wife over (wouldn't be happy about him getting back with his ex-wife, but they really drove home the 2nd chances in this episode) for the final game and they all go home together...not sure what they are going to do, but it'll be interesting to see if they can land this finale.

His dad is in rehab it appears. They showed a clip he just cut his hair.

Roy trying to get another hug from Jamies mom was hilarious.
I have really enjoyed the last 2 episodes.

I don't usually post, and have enjoyed the last few episodes overall. However, I really don't like how the two biggest elements of Nate's arc have essentially been told to us in dialogue and haven't been shown to us. First, his separation from Rupert and West Ham and then the team vote/discussion over asking him to rejoin.

Last season many felt they rushed the heel turn but there were elements throughout the season that showed us how he was becoming less likable and more cutthroat. Now, we never really got much of him acting that way this season except for his interactions in the first episode.

I get that the show wants us to like Nate again, but I don't think they've shown us enough from him to really justify his redemption arc. The whole thing leaves a lot to be desired.

Now, I think they did their best to rectify that viewpoint with Coach Beard in this episode (and that last scene with him was outstanding), but I still kind of feel like Nate is a knob and don't see this team itching to add him back after how he acted last year (and because they're currently in the midst of a win streak and don't actually need his help from a soccer perspective).

Again, really good episode and seems to be setting up for a pleasant finish but it's like the writers just gave up on what they set up last year and wanted to forget it as simply as possible.

I know there have been complaints about episode length and I acknowledge it's probably why some things feel dragged out. But I love this show and it's rebounded recently so I would be fine with a 3 or 4 hour finale. I'm just not ready to say goodbye to this crew. Tuesday nights have been a major highlight of the week for 3 months now. And since my wife often falls asleep halfway through I get to watch it again on Wednesday and see what I missed.

I would like for there to be a spinoff or some kind of continuation post Ted since I firmly believe he'll head back to his soon at the end. But I also think without Bill Lawrence for another season (and even Jason's influence) it would continue to go downhill. It's probably best for it to completely end but I'm down with trying to keep some part of it going even if it ends up more like Joey after Friends than Frasier after Cheers.
