Here's me fully taking the bait, but he's actually never hit in 2 double plays in a game in his professional baseball career.

I'm at the O's Braves game. Looks like we might possibly have a sleeper with this speedster Eli White. 4th inning already has 2homers. Great diving catch in the outfield earlier. My first Spring training game. Been a Braves fan since the early 80's. Very nice stadium, temps in the low 80's.

Dansby apparently hitting .054 this spring and cubs fans are already freaking out I know it's spring, but still find that to be hilarious.

He's normally a slow starter. They'll be fine with him.

Oh I know. But I like seeing Cubs people suffer. Dansby was as frustrating as he was fun to watch on a yearly basis.

Eli White slugging 1.000 in 25 AB's this spring. Also, Rosario hit a tank for Puerto Rico last night and Acuna looked good in center for Venezuela.

I love spring training so much. I actually really liked the Disney set up we used to have but last year was my first time at CoolToday Park and it was so nice.

White supposedly made some swing changes in the offseason. That one could prove to be a really shrewd move.

Also, is Rosario a lock to make the team? Probably is because he's left handed, but he's also on the last year of his deal, and it'll be really hard to leave White and Pillar off right now.

Why aren’t any Braves patriotic enough to play for Team USA?

I'd imagine next cycle you'll see the likes of Harris, Grissom, maybe Strider if he exhibits the ability to stay healthy, Wright, etc

I’ve never liked Dansby, so this has all been very funny to me.

Israel is playing Puerto Rico right now in the WBC and has Joc playing CF and Alex Dickerson playing RF.

That's gotta be the heaviest CF/RF duo in recorded history.

ETA: Rosario just hit a RBI double to dead center over Joc's head. I miss 2021.

White might actually be a huge surprise that could wind up platooning with Eddie in LF and filling that hole.

And I know they want Anderson or Elder to win that 5th starting spot, but Shuster is making a nice case for it. Gonna be interesting to see who gets those last few roster spots out of Spring Training.

I think they are going to have Shuster get more AAA starts under his belt, but will get some spot starts. Really am curious how Soroka is going to be handled this season.

I think you’re right, and I definitely think they WANT to, but Anderson and/or Elder are gonna have to not suck these last couple weeks.

Me too. That set back really hurt. Whatever plans they may have had for him going into ST had to be adjusted and pushed back. He’ll obviously start in Gwinnett with a hope to make it up to Atlanta maybe around the break? But in what role? Got to balance what’s best for his development/getting ready to face big league hitters again, what’s best for his health (short-term and long-term), and what’s best for the Braves (in ‘23 and beyond).

It’d be great if someone establishes himself as a legit 5th starter, the bullpen roles get settled (a few really bad outings recently by our top guys is pretty scary), and they can be conservative with Soroka. Use him as a lagniappe luxury to add to the big club mid-season like a trade without giving anything up.
