Any of you fellas going to be hunting for teal season? I applied for the White Lake Lottery, but wasn't selected. Looking to do a guide trip now, somewhere in SW LA. But i want to hunt in the marsh rather than rice. Any suggestions?

I booked opening weekend this year as soon as i got back from my opening weekend hunt last year. Most reputable places fill up on repeats

I don't think I want to fight the mosquitos this year. Might stay in the truck and let my son deal with those frickers.

Doug’s hunting lodge in Klondike. Ask for Rick Hall, you’ll limit out on blue wings.

We hunt Delacroix and do well assuming we get an influx of teal. It's always penciled in on the calendar, till we scout the days before the opener taking a survey of the birds on hand.

Finding light load steel shot might prove tougher than finding teal. I's tight right now.

Will probably make a few hunts plus a full weekend over on the Eastside if H-town between Anahuac and Winnie. We typically hunt the marsh but it is mostly bone dry so the rice should be on fire. Really hope we get a bunch more rain with this weather the next few days so the marsh can fill up since I’m not wishing for a tropical storm to do it. Plus, teal get burned out of the rice way to quick. At least in the marsh, you can beat up on them a little and they still stick around.

Southern Exposure in Buras. If there's birds on the river they'll have them. Ask for Roger, great dude.

How did all of you fellas break into duck hunting? I've gone on 3 guided trips by just luck, being invited by a friend and his company. I'm ate up with it now and would like to do more, but how did you find places to hunt? Is there an economical way to do it? I'd love to say I'd get to go to one of these lodges every year, but its unlikely.

Rice is usually the biggest teal hunts, big parties shooting into big groups. But if you want to kill em in the marsh, go with Doug's and specifically request marsh hunt, think they have weekday special for $150/gun right now. Ask for Rick or Isaac. Usually go with that crew a few hunts a season

Teal Season 22

Opening weekend Henning Guide Service at Thornwell Oaks.

Last year opening day 24 teal in 17 minutes. Other parties also limits but not as fast.

Sunday took couple of hours at different blind but still 4-man limit.

After opening I'll be hunting Holmwood area where they also had a great teal season last year.

Hunting Season and Football. The reason I work hard and love our country regardless of the BS going on in DC or the rest of the planet. I am at peace and close to the Almighty in the duck blind or deer stand.

I can feel it. We are close. Who Dat tonight, going to be cleaning the scatterguns and drinking bourbon watching the Saints. The world can kiss my arse for the next 6 months.

Migrators (teal) are showing up this week west of Houston. Seeing a few groups here and there in the rice.

Observed several nice bands of teal on the east and west banks of the river while fishing this am. Feed is pristine as well fingers crossed we stay hurricane free.
