As a parent of a HS senior, over the last few years I have come to realize there are no longer teaching moments. Everything must be dealt with in an over the top manor.

Public or private school, it doesn't matter.

“Here at this school… we are a family.. you aren’t just a number”

Oops. Well we didn’t even realize the kids were different

It's been a while since I attended high school, but do they not take roll anymore? I would think a teacher would notice different people in their class during roll call

I want to know what kinds of schools these are. How are the teachers that inept that they didn’t recognize the students sitting in their classes? This is the NINTH MONTH of school. Public schools are more poorly run than any other government institution and it isn’t even close.

What an extremely good-faith and wholesome prank...met by typical incompetence and uselessness by public school administrators

Good grief these administrators should be ashamed of themselves. My HS principle would have laughed, taken a group pic with everyone and told them to get their asses back to their school

We turned four pigs loose in the halls overnight and spray painted a number on each of them (1,2,4,and 5). It took a long time for admin to realize that there was no "Pig 3".

My son is a senior at one of these schools. He said it was only about 12 kids that did this. They thought it would funny and a good prank, but they had their cars towed and had to ride the busses home.

They also said that participating students at Jemison High were kicked off sports teams, had scholarships taken away and couldn’t attend prom.

Are they trying to get a Jeremy to speak in class because that heavy handed shite coupled with completely lax security is how you get Jeremy to speak in class.

In high school, a college friend of mine and three other h.s. kids swiped the Shoney's Big Boy figure (see example) and hauled it up on the roof of the school (over the main entrance).

He had a framed picture of the Big Boy on the roof with the perps in front of the school's main entrance.

How much are y’all willing to bet these administrators had “heroes live here” signs in their front yard?

All a bit excessive as a whole, though within their prerogative I suppose.

Absolutely insanity.

Episcopal and UHIGH seniors did this a few years ago, and it was a great senior prank.

There's legendary stories of the pranks my Old Man did his senior year. These prideful school administrators these days are killing 1/2 the fun of senior year.

Funny prank

Guess they replaced teachers and admin who care with teachers and admin who are going through the motions as well.

Consider this.

Alabama ranks 50 in Education.

These people who can't handle their jobs, just got a major increase in pay while being incapable of performing in the classrooms and have now decided to attempt to ruin the future of a hand full of kids that did no harm in the prank.

Throw more money in their direction, maybe they'll start marching the kids to class in an orderly obedient fashion.

I’m pretty sure Louisiana holds that title.

Unless we are counting DC and Louisiana is 51

People are too uptight these days and we really need to examine the authoritarian assholes we have running our institutions. It’s a big problem

This is 100% true

However, with the constant threat of being sued into oblivion, they kind of have to be uptight assholes

I get it, but at the same time, frick them
