I thought the prank was a funny idea, but apparently the administration thought otherwise.

Alabama students who swap schools in ‘harmless’ senior prank get suspended, allegedly threatened with jail
quote:
On Monday, a small group of seniors from Chilton County High School and Jemison High School, in Chilton County, swapped schools and attended each other’s classes, expecting teachers to catch on quickly. But the students managed to spend nearly half the day at opposite schools without anyone noticing.
quote:
When teachers and administrators realized what was happening, students said their phones were taken up, their cars were towed, they were punished with at least three days of suspension and they were banned from opposite school premises for up to a year, according to social media posts. They also said that participating students at Jemison High were kicked off sports teams, had scholarships taken away and couldn’t attend prom.
quote:
“Let’s be honest, the administration is who is at fault here,” Hunt wrote. “If it took them half the morning to realize they had strangers in the school, we have bigger problems than a Senior prank. The reality is, the lack of security was exposed and now they want to punish the children.”

Yeah they got embarrassed and want to punish the kids.

So are the teachers who missed this getting fired?

That's funny as hell. The administrations need to lighten up

Geez.
And I thought the teacher that schedule a test on our senior skip day was a dick.
That punishment is beyond absurd. They just got embarrassed.

seems a bit harsh for a harmless prank. nothing was damaged, nobody was hurt. a lot better than most high school pranks.

and I thought someone burning the main building down was an elaborate senior prank.

How does something like this happen?
The fact that it wasn’t just one student really highlights the incompetence of the staff.

Our senior prank involved a mountain of manure being dumped in the school courtyard. Officials probably would have much preferred that we just switched schools with other students.

This is a no fun allowed nation now. What a bunch of uptight cocksucks we've become.

100% correct.

The Spleen said these are just zero tolerance policies and we can't do anything about it but follow the rules!

We took a bunch of dead fish and a couple dead turtles and threw them up on the aluminum awning over the main entrance (right by the office) and along the catwalk that lead to the main entrance.
Kinda backfired as we had to smell that nasty shite for about a week along with everyone else. Was worth it though.

That’s way over the top punishment. It’s a harmless prank. If I was the parent of one of those kids I’d be kicking someone’s arse.
People are too uptight these days and we really need to examine the authoritarian assholes we have running our institutions. It’s a big problem

We put rotten tuna in the ventilation system and chained the doors shut so nobody could leave

Certainly is a reflection on how anyone involved with bureaucracy loves the opportunity to use the full force of their power.

If I was a teacher and caught on to the prank (how could you not), it would suddenly be pop quiz day, or presentation day.
The correct response for the school to a harmless senior prank is to lean into it.

We stacked tires all the way up the flag pole out front. They had to cut them off one by one ??

Think about this, we are paying a buttload of taxes for these public 'schools' and this is the way these school 'administrators' are treating our children ?
