Global Entry is the best. Comes with Pre Check.

Not as much as it used to, every dick and harry has it now and are too stupid to know how it works…. ‘Do I have to take off my shoes”. “Hold on, let me take my laptop out” etc….

Should be a written test to get it, just like there should for using self checkout lanes.

Flew out of McCarran (I refuse to call it by it's new name) on Sunday afternoon. Pre-check line was twice as long as regular security. Just a matter of time before most people have it, and we are all back to square one.

The regular TSA line was 45 minutes at MSY on Monday. It was 5 minutes in TSA precheck. Worth the money

Seems to be just as crowded now or more so.

Is clear worth doing if already have pre-check?

Depending where you are, I suppose. Charleston is a small, but crowded airport. There was only one PreCheck lane, so it was around 15 minutes when I was there, which is much different from ORD. Don’t think I’ve ever spent more than 5-7 minutes in the PreCheck line.

Truly depends on the airport... I only have it because my CC pays for it. Out of 5 trips recently, I have used once.

All other times, the Pre line was shorter.

Yes worth it but now that you can use a TWIC card as well to go through Pre Check lines it will get worse.

Pre-Check and Global Entry are the best things I have ever purchased.

Yes, I just renewed mine last month for another 5 years. Definitely worth it!

Although, it was useless at the Calgary airport this morning because it's not accepted outside of the US. Global entry is needed to go to the fast line for that, but I don't fly internationally that often.

I used a TWIC card (an offshore worker security card) to skip a line at DC Reagan airport once. In NOLA and Houston they know what it is... not so often elsewhere. I recommend Global Entry which does include TSA-pre.

Absolutely, wife and I flew out of Nola the day before Ida hit. Airport was max capacity, TSA line was as long as I’ve ever seen. Only reason we didn’t miss the flight was because I had pre check (TWIC) she was able to get in the regular line and I checked the bags and went through pre check line. We boarded with plenty enough time to spare.

I don’t follow this exactly. Using CLEAR gets me walked ahead of the PreCheck line straight past the ID check into the metal detectors. It’s just nice to not need your wallet and pull anything out but my phone.

I have Pre-Check. Love it. I’m glad security knows what a TWIC card is now. Before I had TSA Pre, I tried to use my TWIC card to get into the Pre Check line. The “very professional” staff told me to GTFO.

As others have said, Pre Check and Global Entry (which comes with TSA Pre) are the perfect combo. I haven’t done Clear yet . TSA Pre lines tend to run quite fast.

Only 1-2 people in pre check with close to 10 in clear line with only 2 people working. I’ve experienced this at ATL and MCO. I mean we’re only talking a few minutes difference, but Pre was def quicker.

It also depends where the Clear setup is. Since HOU moved Pre to front of security area, you have to walk 30-40 yards past Pre to get to clear, just to walk back to the Pre area. If there are less than 5 people in Pre, I’m not walking all the way down to clear to come back.

The proper way to use the TWIC card for TSA Pre is to use the TWIC CIN as your Known Traveler Number when booking the travel.
