Why Scott Drew could leave Baylor. They really wont be in a Power conference in five years

He would still be a hot name at age 56/57 when that happens but the fans of schools that want him now wouldnt be as behind it as they are now with him being 51. At 51 the fans can hope for a 15-20 year run before he retires.
Oh and he is NOT going to UGA ever. He isn't going to Mizzou either but if he is considering those types of jobs Mizzou is far and away above UGA......oh and he was born and raised in Kansas City and his wife is from Missouri too. Again I don't think he is leaving this year, maybe ever.
He would be a homerun hire for anyone especially Mizzou. Home state kid, NC on his resume. He wouldnt get every recruit at Link Year Prep or out of STL but he would get a lot of them and would have Mizzou in said recruits top 5 the moment he offered.

Conference doesn’t matter nearly as much in basketball. Even then, Big 12 will still be fine as a basketball conference. Drew isn’t going anywhere unless maybe one of the blue bloods came calling but even then I don’t see it

There is a major concern within their fanbase of directing money away from football. They don't have limitless funds compared to who they are competing against in the SEC (they think they do.)

It wouldn't surprise me, just because Georgia has access to plenty of great players. The only question is if they're committed to basketball.

Where's all this coming from?
Is it because Mulkey left Baylor for LSU last year? Totally different circumstances with that move.
Like somebody else said, 'power conference' doesn't matter with men's basketball. As long as Kansas is there, the Big 12 has an anchor to the NCAA.

The New Big 12 is actually a really good basketball conference. If he leaves it's just because of money. We're paying Beard 5 mil, he's probably trying to get at least that much from another desperate school.

This is dumb.
New Big 12 will still be good in hoops.
Conferences don’t mean much in hoops. Mid-majors have thrived for a long time. The Big East is loaded, WCC is good for 2 bids a year, household names took root in Butler, Wichita, Memphis, now Loyola. The list is long. If Drew wants a new challenge, great, but if he’s leaving Baylor for some shite program like Georgia because he’s afraid of non-P5 status, he deserves to lose.
