Could be. But I also read that Russia has a bunch of air launched and ground launched hypersonic missiles that are good to go
Again it’s Russia. Just because the technology works once doesn’t mean it will work everytime.
There is a saying that I heard a lot when I visited Russia. “If you want something fancy to impress people buy Russian. If you want something to work, buy German.”

Just means the Russians will pick up more weapons when the Ukrainians throw them down and run away. It doesn’t matter how many you have if they’re running away from the front.

You lost me there cowboy…name a battle won by the Iraqis, Ghanis or ISIL against US forces…you can’t because they were obliterated by us in any fixed battlespace. You’re also nuts if you think Russia would invade Ukraine focused on symmetrical warfare…they would crush them across their electric/petro grids, transport and comms before even sending a tank across the border.

I hope Ukraine makes Russia pay a steep price. I also hope we stay the hell out of everything.

Why are you emotionally invested in Ukraine. It’s weird.

Ukrainian intelligence. TD is pretty huge over there.

I don’t understand that. Can you give an example of a Russian product that fits that description?

Stop the presses! Ukraine has more troops in Ukraine than Russia!
Russia is geographically 28 or so times as large as Ukraine maybe that’s why Ukraine has more troops in the area.

We know for a fact that Russian SAMs work.

There will be no war. Putin is letting the MSM provide him with the leverage he desires from his buildup. He certainly does not want a bloody nose.

We also have a Constitution that says congress votes to go to war. Why should we be beholden to a treaty 30 years ago? Do you know how WW1 started? These crazy alliances turn small skirmishes in to World Wars and that's a fact. We should stay out

My question is this, if it’s basically this easily known foregone conclusion that there would be no and will be no military incursion by Russia, then how does Putin have any leverage at all? Wouldn’t the other side simply be like “We already know you aren’t actually going to invade Ukraine, therefore go f*ck yourself.”

The first time I heard it was in reference to a kitchen appliance, but I also heard it in reference to Russian cars.
To answer whomever asked me why I am emotionally involved in Ukraine it’s because my roommate in medical school is Ukrainian and he is a reservist in the UKrainian ground forces. I also have several other friends over there who have been activated.

Putin is playing chess while the west is playing checkers…he gains cred at home rattling his saber while Ukraine spends $ it doesn’t have just prepping for a Russkie invasion into the Donbass…Ukraine does not have the resiliency in its infrastructure nor military organization to survive all out Russian asymmetrical warfare.
Look at the two faces of the Russian ops re: Chechnya…they did not make the same mistakes going back in there the 2nd time. They were ruthless and crushed the will of the Chechen resistance.
Russia would wipe out the power grid, cell towers, NG pipeline, railroad depots, and water supplies in major cities…Ukraine knows it…Europe knows it, hell even Billy Idol knows it…

1) the issue is that Ukraine has no ability to ramp up like Russia can
2) this isn’t WW2, where that was a good way to compare fighting ability. Modern warfare is all about deep strike capability, not how many troops you can put in APVs, tanks, and in buildings.
Ukraine has fewer than 100 combat aircraft and 500 missile emplacements to try to deter deep strikes.
And they are almost all outdated forms of Russian (technically USSR) equipment. The newest one was designed 50 years ago, and last refitted 30 years ago.
Russia has more trainer jets than Ukraine has combat craft. Even if the Ukrainian pilots pull a miracle and become all aces shooting down 5+ jets for every loss in spite of inferior platforms, they still wouldn’t exhaust the Russian inventory.
