You know why. A peanut isn't a damn peanut anymore.

Overprotective parents not giving their kids peanuts in case they have a 1 in a million allergy turned it into a 1 in 100 allergy

Lack of vitamin d

Eta: I dated a girl for a a few years and she had a severe peanut allergy. It's been 7 or so years since we broke up and I'm still out of the habit of keeping peanut butter and such around. shite was terrifying to see.

There's a big difference between the 70s and now when it comes to autoimmunity diseases. If we can maybe connect the dots of something you get a lot more of nowadays than you did then. It's been big news the last couple years.

In my completely uneducated opinion, not backed by any kind of facts or science, I’d guess that fewer mothers breastfeed nowadays as opposed to in the 70’s and 80’s.

About 10-15 years ago the NIH decided it was better to wait longer to expose children to nuts and berries. That is when the allergy cases exploded.

Too clean theory, body is too sensitive to shite etc and the they absorb everything from ground. pesticides etc trigger allergic reactions as body identifies them properly as toxic then decides all peanuts are toxic. same reason i grew up allergic to grass, but i cut 1000s yards and eventually got over it

Far more breastfeed now. To the point that some shame those that don't.
