I look at expansion this way: If the SEC is going to be forced to expand eventually by other conferences, it's better to be proactive and go ahead and get the schools that fit the SEC.
While many on here don't particularly like A&M, is there any school that is a better fit for the SEC? No.

I was in Chemical Engineering for a year, then I got lazy and switched majors.
Now, I'm in Environmental Geoscience.

Yeah there's actually a couple of schools located in the "south east". FSU and Miami for starters.

Explain to me exactly what Texas A&M brings to the SEC besides a few more television sets. Their football program isn't even as good as Arkansas. They regularly get their arse kicked in out of conference games. Hell, the Aggies aren't even competitive in the Big 12. They'll be another Ole Miss/South Carolina in the SEC, maybe not even that good.
