One of the reasons Mizzou fans were upset about being able to leave at halftime is the close proximity parking. Nice and flat, makes for great tailgating.

Nice looking campus. Still saddened that Missouri did no end up in the B1G as well. Best of luck in the SEC.

Lots of Mizzou upgrades since I went there. Get ready for the onslaught of SEC fans though, you all are in for a shock.

SEC fan will come into Columbia or College Station on Friday and take over the town and campus. We won't give it up until Sunday.
If you think I'm kidding, just watch. Mizzou and TAMU, you guys won't know what hit ya next fall when the games are played. You'll get used to it and get with the program.

LSU fans were delusional for expecting more when they had Gary DiNardo then....right? At the time, your last (only) NC was in 1958. Ours is 1939.

Same with pre-Spurrier UF fans.

Who are we to expect better?

How's the tailgate scene in Columbia? Liquor laws? Most important questions to any LSU fan.

Actually the campus is a big selling point for many schools in the SEC. I know Still water is a wasteland so you might not understand that.

Not bad at all. Lots of tailgating, but a little spread out. Some really close to the stadium and some not so close at all. People will tailgate along the side of the road. Liquor laws are pretty much non existent on gameday. Walk around campus/tailgate spots with bottles, cans, cups. Hard liquor is ok too. Some people bring a full bar literally to tailgates.

Wasn't initially feeling [good about] Missouri to the SEC in the beginning but it's almost all good now
Yes. With just these slight tweaks I added, that just about describes it for me.

The "average teams" in the SEC are still better than the great teams in other conferences

One of the nice things about Columbia (Mo) is that the downtown - with many, many bars and fine restaurants - adjoins the campus. So you can tailgate if you like, or you can hang out downtown, walk through campus to the south end where the stadium sits. You can essentially stay on foot all weekend.

My realistic expectation is for A&M to be what Arkansas is in the SEC
you should have just stayed in Big 12 then. That's not asking very much

I don't understand the view of some fans/media members....basically, their idea is that unless you dominate your current conference, you shouldn't be allowed to leave. The theory goes, that since Nebraska/CU/A&M/Mizzou can't win consistently in the Big 12, they are stupid for leaving, and other conferences are stupid for wanting them.

Huh?

The other puzzling part of this mindset believes that the SEC is made up 100% of Bama/LSU/UF caliber programs, and any new member who is not currently this caliber has no business joining.

Did they forget about MSU, Ole Miss, UK, Vandy? And sometimes UT, USC, Arkansas? Hell, even AU and UF are pretty average this year.

A&M and Mizzou will both settle into the middle-upper middle of the pack in the SEC, and both were middle of the pack in the Big 12. So what?

Both are also capable of leveraging the fact that they are in the best conference in America into more success than they've experienced in the Big 12. The only way to find out is to play the games on the field and see what happens.

Don't worry about them, just know that one day you will play in a SEC championship game in Atlanta and will play some Sugar Bowls.

LSU had down seasons too, every program does. This move wasn't made for this year or next, but the next few decades.

Winning the SEC is so important, Tulane still flies their 1934 SEC championship banner in the Dome.
