I've seen some of their fans saying that they are happy to see Mizzou "rush" and go to the SEC, because now THEY will be in line when the Big 10 decides to expand

Bama, Arkansas and LSU need to start regularly scheduling Kansas for an arse beating at the beginning of the year.

They've reached full blown cupcake status. Never go full cupcake.

Speaking of cupcakes, how fricking stupid are they for firing Mangino?

They're almost as dumb as Tech for letting Leach go.

Seems you expected them to be smart. That's a mistake.

pretty sure that's not the case.

pretty sure that BAYLOR refuses to play A&M in womens basketball

pretty sure that Tech hasn't asked

pretty sure that the steers and queers are too chickenshit to play anyone that might beat them (frankly, I'm surprised they scheduled BYU this year)

I certainly don't blame them. Traditional rivalries are fun. As a fan, I would hate to lose them for money I'll never see.

I would be in favor of keeping Kansas as a permanent non-conference rival and playing every year at Arrowhead Stadium. During the Mangino run those were some great games. My biggest concern in conference realignment was the loss of this historic rivalry.

Hopefully someone from the KC area (I'm looking at you, Mayor Sly) will get these two to the table and make them realize how big it will be for the city. Mizzou can have their in-conference manufactured rivalry game with Arky sometime in October, like the Cocktail Party and Bama-Tenn., then play KU Thanksgiving weekend like USC-Clemson, FSU-Florida and UGA-Ga. Tech. Would be nice if A&M could do the same with TU.

Missouri is more than willing to play Kansas every year at Arrowhead they have already offered but Kansas says no. They were trying to guilt Mizzou into staying by putting the rivalry on the line if we left. Now that we're gone maybe in a few years they will see the light and schedule us again. According to their AD the MU/KU rivalry belongs in the Big 12 and only exists inside the Big 12.

They keep trying to blame us for Kansas City maybe losing the Big 12 tourney but they already lost that after 2014. For the entirety of the Big 8 tourney it was always played in Kansas City. When the Big 12 came about they kept it in KC for 6 years but after seeing how much money it made KC Dallas wanted in on it so they moved it to Dallas in 2003 and 2004. and at that point put it on a rotating schedule of Dallas, Oklahoma City and Kansas City. They only rescheduled it for for Kansas City having it every year through 2014 to appease Missouri after everything that happened in the summer of 2010 and it goes back on a rotating schedule after that anyway whether MU had stayed or not. Since 2 Big 12 north teams bolted and Missouri wanted to they held out the crumbs of the Big 12 tourney in KC through 2014 to keep us happy.

Considering KU has had multiple games where they have tried to boost attendance with Groupon deals, and another where they had a free ticket giveaway to see Oklahoma, they will need to continue the series in Kansas City.

Yet it existed long before the Big-12 did. The current crop of administrators at KU (and, let's be honest, these people have no more loyalty to the institution than to anyone else who will give them a seven-figure salary) will figure out what's what soon enough. KU football would have absolutely nothing to look forward to under Preacher Gill if not for the annual game with Mizzou.

If you call marrying a spouse that is going to beat you silly year in and year out in every sport, then I would agree that Mizzou is "marrying up." The university may receive more money, so I can't blame the administration for the move (after all, that is what schools pay school presidents to do), but unlike the Big 12, the SEC is top to bottom, a more competitive conference. Mizzou will continue their history of not winning conference championships. Only in the SEC, they'll be the doormat, perpetually trading coaches with Ole Miss every couple of years.

Hopefully they will see the light on that. That is a great game that benefits both programs by raising their profiles in the KC area

Only reason to say no to continuing is cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.

This whole bit is silliness period. The tournament should be played near Kansas because (much like the SEC and Kentucky) there is no school other than Kansas which better represents and supports (attends) basketball

Well, this is all pretty funny. Their fans have for years called Mizzou and Missourians "slavers" because of the Civil War. They have always claimed to be morally superior. Not sure why they are so upset about us leaving if they hate us so much.

Good riddance!
