yep.....takes a lot of nerve to talk shite when you're literally the worst BCS football school this season.

MU needs to run it up when they play later this month.

Honestly MU/KU was the only really big rivalry lost involving Mizzou.

quote:

The intense rivalry between the two universities can be traced to the open violence involving anti-slavery and pro-slavery elements that took place in the Kansas Territory and the western frontier towns of Missouri throughout the 1850s. These incidents were attempts by some Missourians (then a slave state) to influence whether Kansas would enter the Union as a free or slave state

First Meeting October 31, 1891
Games Played 119
All-time series MU 56-54-9 or TIE 55-55-9 (disputed)

I don't know. I think that New Mexico could take them (lose to them).

The official stance of Texa...I mean...the Big 12, is that all leaving teams will be boycotted.

childish. i know tejas doesn't care, but they have really tarnished their image. i would like to see non big 12 schools boycott them sobs. you know, like a tariff war.

KU's administrators, alumni and fan base are a bunch of whiny-assed bitches, and that's coming from an alum. They are acting worse than Baylor and deserve to wind up in the Mountain West with K-State when this is all over and done with. They need Mizzou a lot more than Mizzou needed them, but statements like this will make them toxic to everyone except maybe the Big Least.

Sounds like how texas acted towards a&m when it was official. The butthurt is strong with the bevo10 schools.

This. It's amazing the amount of butthurt coming from that POS conference these days.

The school's official Facebook and Twitter accounts also posted this: "Missouri forfeits a century-old rivalry. We win."

Total bush league bullshite for an 'official' Tweet.

One thing it does, especially for A&M and Mizzou fans, is create a heavy interest in future Big 12 vs SEC games.

Not that we woudln't have rooted for the SEC anyway, but the actions of many of the remaining Big 12 schools has created a hatred there.

Bold teams = teams turning down the opportunity to continue playing non-conference.

Very strange indeed.

pretty sure A&M came out and refused to schedule Baylor and Tech in the future. due to scheduling constrains or something. Pretty much just what Texas said.

Awwwww, they got their little feelings hurt. At least they still have Texas and OU's dick to suck as a pacifier.

How does that explain refusing to play A&M in womens basketball, mens basketball, volleyball, baseball, etc etc.....A&M said it would be difficult to continue playing all three of those in football every year, but not in other sports.

Obviously, you aren't going to have the same 3 non-conference opponents every single football season.

Coonassatt.u.

Only one side needs to cool down. We're headed to the SEC.

I would pretty much agree with this statement.

OU/MU is significant because they have been playing each other since around 1930 as is MU/Nebraska as they had been playing each other since back in the 1890's

MU/Colorado was only significant because of the game in Columbia in 1990 and when you think about it, it was really MU's coaches fault for not paying attention. It was a home game and Missouri lead the game 31 to 27 with less than a minute on the clock. Colorado moved the ball inside the Mizzou 5 yard line and their QB spiked the ball to stop the clock. To make a long story short it took Colorado 4 more plays to get the touchdown as the clock ran out basically winning the game using 5 downs to score a touchdown. Mizzou fans hated Bill McCartney for years due to it.

That's basically the only reason there was any real rivalry between the two and I believe it was forgotten within a few years.

But KU/MU is just basically a hatred that still runs deep today. The Jay-hawkers were loyal to the North and Quantrill's raiders were from Missouri and loyal to the south. It's rumored that Jessie James and his gang were part of Quantrill's raiders and they became outlaws by striking at Union strongholds even after the war was over.

Kansas and Missouri compete for everything even getting businesses to locate in the area.
