KU fires barbs at Mizzou

quote:

"We're sorry to see a century-old conference rivalry end. Missouri's decision may have implications for fans and for the Kansas City area, but it won't affect the long-term strength of the Big 12."

The school's official Facebook and Twitter accounts also posted this: "Missouri forfeits a century-old rivalry. We win."

KU isn't relevant in this discussion, it like UK trying to run SEC stuff.

There is certainly no way to preserve out of conference rivalry games in this day and age.

UT/Bama was a major driving force behind this.

I'm well aware...but I wouldn't consider that much of a rivalry. A classic/historic game...sure.

The problem is the series tends to run in streaks for one team or the other, so it usually looks one sided.

Bold teams = teams turning down the opportunity to continue playing non-conference.

Very strange indeed.

Is strange the right word?

Has this been confirmed by both sides? Can you blame Mizzou though picking up an SEC schedule? It's not like Mizzou/OU has been a huge rivalry anyway.

The official stance of Texa...I mean...the Big 12, is that all leaving teams will be boycotted.
