I edited it because I didn't want to draw attention to recruits about Miles possibly leaving for Michigan. After reading some of the comments I didn't think it was too supportive of Miles staying. I don't want to encourage any "negatiger" opportunities!

Well done. Miles bashing at this point in time is fricking ignorant.

I think odds are Harbaugh goes SF, leaving Michigan limited options im affraid. BP said they were reworking contract but he may be stalling to see if Michigan comes knocking. This could leave us in a vulnerable situation. Michigan will be looking for a "Michigan Man" that knows and respects the traditions. They need a safe pick who can recruit. Im getting sick thinking about it.

They would have fired RR by now if they wanted him gone. I think Harbaugh stays at Stanford. It's a good job. He could go 8-4 next year and no one is calling for his job. If he makes a Rose Bowl or BCS bowl twice every ten years with other bowl games he's golden.

Plus you can win a bcs title at Stanford. They have a great campus and win in all other sports and money isn't a problem there. There are kids who can play football at all positions who have the grades and smarts to go to Stanford on the West Coast alone.

Oh Hell Neaux!!!

I laugh at the people that want Miles to go to Michigan.

Alot of you act like good coaches would just drop what they're doing and make the switch to LSU.

With the slim pickings for a new head coach out there this year, it would be beyond stupid to hope Miles left for Michigan. LSU would be in a bind.

But you morons keep hoping he makes the jump. It would set the program back another 3 years.

I'm not the biggest Miles supporter in the world, but I agree with this. After watching what Miami and Florida had to settle for, I'm not liking our chances of finding a coach as good as Miles.

I don't know. Les Miles wasn't considered the greatest hire at the time either. I think Al Golden at Miami is going to be phenomenal. I definitely don't want to go through a coaching search right now though.

I think he will be a very good coach, but I don't know if it's a home run. The SEC, especially the SEC West, is in an arms race with facilities, recruiting and coaching. I'd hate to bring in an unknown just because the fans feel the grass is greener with someone else.

I'd rather not be coach searching right now... not with a top flight recruiting class coming in, how late we are into the game and the relative lack of options.

The only slam dunk hire I see available right now is Dan Mullen...and even that is questionable.

You are overvaluing Mullen.

Which is why I said even that is questionable.

Who else is there?

Obviously ANY hire has a certain amount of risk involved.

A lot of people love Gary Patterson, but I'm not sure he's a fit for the recruiting and arms race that is the SEC... doesn't seem to suit his personality.

I think Harbaugh would be a slam dunk, but he's likely NFL bound.

Chris Petersen? Is he another in the line of above average or failure coaches to come from Boise?

I personally think Malzahn would be an outstanding hire, but there's a tremendous amount of risk associated with that.

There's just no candidates out there right now like there have been the past few years (Brian Kelly last year, Urban a few years ago, Rich Rod a few years ago).

You either have to go with a re-tread or NFL failure (which may work out) or someone who is unproven to some extent.

Miles to Mich it may be his last chance if offered, but there seems to be no demand for him, while every one in the SEC wanted Saban Out Myer Out yet they all want Miles to stay at LSU, WHY ? Cause they know, no matter how much talent LSU has Miles will find away to lose 2 games a year. And he has never recruited a Chapionship team.
