I'm not pretending to know the specifics of Raymond's situation. I do know that a guy who had 2 years remaining on his deal usually doesn't get an extension and a raise announced DURING season, unless he is a threat to leave and the current employer is trying to make a public statement that the coach is staying.

That seems to be the case here. Occum's Razor. It's more likely his potential to leave was genuine than it was made up.

Youre making too much sense. Most our fans are morons.

I love the way a Bama fan's thought process works.

Kinda like LSU fans still claim to know more about Saban than Bama fans?

Whatever happened with the rumor from the Bama "insiders" that Sark was drinking with players before the SECCG (or was it after)?

It's in the toilet with those "Saban to Texas" rumors that originated on this board. Amirite?

you mean the "rumor" that Texas was courting Saban?

So, Sark wasn't drinking with the players??? what a relief!

Courting, chicken? I think the rumors grew far beyond a courtship.

Chicken I recall you being pretty adamant about Saban going to Texas.

I recall TheDoc saying it was done and that Saban was in debt that Texas was paying off and how he was getting a piece of Longhorn Network and $100M for 10 years. That guy had an active imagination.

Chicken you also said that Alabama only has 5 or so titles in attempt to bring our prestige down to make you fan base more feel more adequate when comparing the two programs. How can I trust anything you say?

I don't think he's ready for the DC job yet, and I think UF would have to pay him - a guy who hasn't run a D before - $1M+ to get him to leave. Might happen, but those current players on their roster want Shannon and I'm not sure Mac is ready to hand over his D to a guy who has never been a coordinator before.

This is the worry. Especially if Shannon takes offense and leaves. The annoying thing about it is Mac has an obvious solution (shitcan Nuss and hire a stud recruiter as OC mentoring them in his offense) but this will probably be what he does instead- which is way more of a gamble and has obvious possible secondary effects.

I have no idea if florida needs or OC or not though.

We do unfortunately the job is still occupied- both Alabama and Michigan thought our OC was incompetent and fired his arse he's given us two 100+ ranked offenses.

Tua ought to be okay with this correct?

Probably so. He talks with Saban every week on the phone. Besides, Tosh wasn't going to coach his side of the field. Though I do hate losing him. He's been great for us. But he's earned a promotion.
