Surely he has more self esteem that to come to a mud hole like College Station.

It's ludicrous to think SOS would stoop to being an OC. It's an insult to even ask him to do that given his top flight accomplishments as a HBC.

I would agree, but Spurrier himself has said that he'd like to keep coaching, and that he thinks his head coaching days are behind him.

Of course you can't buy fully into internet rumors. But that doesn't mean they're not true. Sometimes, people's sources are actually dead-on accurate at the time the info is conveyed. But things change, coaches have a change of heart, get cold feet etc. Hell, I change my mind on things all the time. Nothing is set in stone until the contract is signed and/or the coach is at the podium.

Spurrier going to be pissed about the golfing situation in CS.

CS has much better golf courses than you would think. Miramont is outstanding and there are a couple other nice courses there as well.

Miramont and Traditions are great courses, and Tiger Woods first U.S. course will be like 45 mins away. Miramont's clubhouse is off the charts

The guy who is claiming that it's going to happen also called the Chavis hire very early. I believe it. At least, I hope it's true. But Spav is definitely out as OC.

Why does A&M want to get rid of Spav? Anyone with eyes can see that the issue with you guys hasn't been play calling.

As far as Spurrier, I just don't see him being a good fit at A&M. He likes to run his mouth. I can see him and Sumlin clashing in a major way.

Would be hilarious if it was Steve Spurrier, Jr.

With Spurrier as OC & Chavis as DC, that would mean the aggies are 2 recruiters short. Chavis seldom if ever leaves the campus & Spurrier has been quoted several times that not having to recruit any more was huge with his decision.

Why do you guys always need others to state the obvious for you?

Play calling is fine. QB is still young, fought injuries, O line is decent in pass blocking and not so hot in run. They aren't physical enough. Fix that and your O looks exponentially better.
You've also only had 1 real standout receiver this year. RSJ had a good year, but could/should have been better. I was expecting to see him do what Dez did at OSU. He's a big guy and should be putting corners on their arse at the LOS.

The OL is terrible at everything

We consistently call screens behind the LOS of third and long. Every throw that isn't behind the LOS is some low percentage throw into a tight window on the sideline. We run play action on third and long constantly with a line that already struggles in protection.

Our offense makes no sense. We tried to utilize a FB and TE but don't have any on the roster. We've tried to mesh what Auburn does and the air raid and it's ridiculous and doesn't work. You could have saved a lot of time by saying you didn't watch us play

Um, if A&M could pull Chavis it isn't exactly a stretch to say they could get Spurrier. He is friends with Sumlin. He used to work with Hyman and they had a good relationship. A&M can pay him whatever it wants.

Personally I don't know how I feel about it, not really my first choice but I can think of worse things. Just don't know if the HBC wants to really be an OC. If he does and he really dives in he could do some great things.

I also find it hilarious that LSU folks are talking about how College Station is a mudhole, I mean unless you are from Louisiana and really love cajun food BR is a crime ridden craphole.

Actually Miramont (Spelling) is only legit course in CS that compares to courses in SC and Coastal Georgia. Traditions is ok, and Pebble Creek is overrated. Briarcrest is a joke and so is Bryan Municipal. The A&M University is much better than it used to be, nothing special about it.
