Realistically, I think the real best case scenario for Miles to go to Michigan is if things play out just like they are.

Michigan makes a big run at Harbaugh, and waiting for him ends up with his turning them down to stay in the NFL.

In the mean time, Les has not officially been quoted as not taking the job. All of the crappy options (Addazzio, Butch Jones, Schiano) are disappearing and getting jobs/extensions. All the while, Hackett can start telling people, Les is the best available and they should jump on the chance. Michigan fans and big brass are more on board the Les train. He can finish the bowl game and then make his move.

It works perfectly!

Les Miles is absolutely worth that offer. Absolutely.

IMO:
Miles is an 8.5 win Coach.
He's in a recruiting territory with no P5 instate competition, and a deep LSU tradition - and that turns him into a 9.5 win coach.
The area where the LSU tradition doesn't mean much is NOLA - He paid a mill a year to an assistant to recruit NOLA and took care of that trouble spot, turning them into a 10-11 win program.

If he went today, then no way we should let him coach the bowl. Skip fricked up letting nick coach against iowa. I doubt joe would do any better but any ad worth a frick tells the coach go on now you aren't our coach.

Watching this situation from afar is so weird. You've got Michigan fans practically saying "anyone but Miles". You've got some LSU fans saying "you'd be lucky to get Miles but he's not leaving LSU". And you've got some LSU fans (perhaps trolling Michigan, perhaps wishful thinking) who are saying "Miles will ultimately be the guy".

It's just odd.

Agree. i think its an indication of how cultish Mich is as well as power plays underway. Its a pretty f'd up situation up there.

I am absolutely through with you. It is one thing to say that you think Harbaugh is going to stay in the NFL. It's another thing to say that there is no way he goes to Michigan. It's a possibility.

Grow the frick up, moonbitch. Educate yourself, twit.

I think the prevailing thought among rational people is there is a very slim chance (probably around 10%) that Harbaugh goes to Michigan.

It's higher than that. I can guarantee you that.

The problem is that you guys just aren't educated on the topic.

Not as bad and the reasons are different. Mich can really start a new chapter here and up their game but they just cant seem to do so.

To be fair, we have access to the same published and online info you do. We have access to the same message board rumors you do. Unless you have some inside source, we have access to the same info you do. We just look at it through a different set of eyes (we aren't emotionally invested like you so we aren't trying to bend facts to support our theory/desires).
