He couldn't decide between fisher and herman so he combined them and hired a fisherman

We shouldn't be a fallback plan. What happens when 2-3 yrs when Texas comes calling to Herman in BR?
Well, we were gonna whip Florida's arse for messing with us and that didn't work out, so I'd say Texas will have a good chance.

The shite show in Austin is nothing compared to the dumpster fire in Baton Rouge. In 3 years, Herman will be going strong at Texas, and our new AD (hopefully this hire costs Alleva his job) will be getting ready to fire Orgeron.
We are not concerned. You should be.

You don't think saban told dolphins brass the same thing he told the media?
LOL
Right, LOL at yourself.
What does that have to do with anything? Alabama doesn't know what Saban told the Dolphins; they only know what Saban told them. Alleva didn't walk away because of what Herman told Houston, he walked because of what Herman told Alleva.

Having done M and A for years it is clear JA does not know how to negotiate.
Negotiations are based on a win win for both parties.
IF a deal was truly in place the proper response in the next step of negotiation was for JA to say
" I understand your position and trust you understand ours. We have an agreement in place but out of respect for Mr. Herman I will raise our offer by 500K and this is our final offer. Mr. Herman has one hour to accept or reject. IF there is no response in one hour all deals are void.
We look forward to you telephone call within the hour."
To respond the way it is reported JA did is simply at best unprofessional and at worst immature.
The ball is now in

Exactly. You counter Herman's request, put a time limit on it, and go from there.

he doesn't have to fight that shitshow in Austin every step of the way.

I'd suggest using wins and losses as your measuring stick for the degree of dumpster fire, not the time it took to hire a coach.

And they did it with three university leaders, including an interim AD, seemingly all pulling in different directions a week ago while there were calls to run all of them out of town.
It only took about 6 hours for that shite show to make Joe Alleva look like an idiot then make him back down and proclaim LSU is a second rate program.

Good thing alleva isn't recruiting players for LSU..
5 star: I'm going to take an official visit to auburn but I'm still committed to you.
Alleva: eff you kid! I have a 1 star kid from bunky that wants thar scholly! Pound sand.

Good stuff. Reality is joe knew he had zero chance with Herman. It was all window dressing to look like he made an effort when it was going to be O all along.

JA made the decision to abandon the negotiation without discussing with anyone else.

I can't speak to that but I do know he would have stayed at the table if we a) really wanted him and b) knew we had a shot. I don't think either scenario existed so he bailed.

I would have thought the same so I point blank asked my sauce and the response I got was " this is all on Aleva, he made the decision")
Posted on 11/27/16 at 4:02 pm to Rougarou13
Jesus. That's depressing.
Aleva is such a twat.

You realize that Texas has been declining for years and they're administration is notorious for being a puppet to the uber rich donors right? That is a shitshow. By definition.
I'm fine with O. I was never an O sunshine pumper, but I had more faith in him than most on here and thought he didn't deserve all the shite he got.
