His defense got progressively worse each year under his watch and then fell off a cliff

I don't know what these guys want.
He was just hired today. Two weeks and this is what we waited for? Kevin fricking Steele?
Of course people are gonna be upset. It's rational to think people are going to be upset with this hire.
And another thing, since everybody is accused of being anti-miles, why are people pissed? Wouldn't they be happy he made a shitty hire?
And compare this cat's resume to others that were out there or rumored to interview for the position, and this guy belongs at the very bottom of them.
Give some people time to process this. If people are still bitching about this the first week of fall practice, then bitch at them.
What happens from here on is on Les. The offense and the defense is all on his hands now. It's not the fans' fault if this turns into a shitshow.

You have money and are supposedly a top tier program. You are in the most competitive division in the most competitive conference in college football. Your dc just got hired away from you to a rival in the same conference. Your offense is shittastic and the d has been the only thing to save you from losing again and again. You take your time look at all the possibilities and then a retread coach who has failed again and again at multiple stops.
If there was a time to lose your shite and be furious it is now.

miles and Cam get great recruits on offense and can't do shite with them. The same concern exists on the defensive side of the ball. This ain't rocket science.

The Sunshine Pumper Narrative was something like this.
We could have had mediocrity two weeks ago, but we are better than that. WE ARE LSU. We're waiting for everything else to play out. We're waiting for the national championship games are played out. We're waiting for people to get fired in the NFL. And then when all of that happens, we'll take our time and get a big name that everyone will love.
And then one day after the NC game, we go out and settle on the guy we could have had two weeks ago but we didn't have to because we were waiting to see what happened.
