My take. This isn't on Alleva...

This is a direct result of last year, which has been said was a result of people above Alleva. We could have easily had Herman or Fuente.

I don't like the fact that this hire doesn't give us expertise on one side of the ball. Miles didn't either. I will say I have more confidence in O on defense than Miles on offense or defense. He's a tireless recruiter. He was at Ole Miss. He's a better recruiter than anyone on our board with the possible exception of Fisher. We'll see payoffs in that area.

I'm hopeful he sticks with prostyle on offense. The USC bootleg system they ran under Carroll will not be going anywhere. It's not flavor of the month.

I'm optimistic. He doesn't cost that much. He's at his dream job, and I think he has a chip on his shoulder. I'm hopeful he coaches that way.

Bullfrickingshit. Alleva didn't interview ANYONE. There was no search. It was all a sham.

It's about timing. Last year, UT wasn't open. This year, it was. I don't think Fisher was viable.

The only alternative would have been to wait and see what happens in the NFL with Kelly.

People act like Alleva is making these decisions on his own. He is acting within the framework given to him.

No that his interview process is over he has a chip on his shoulder? Over an entire year we had nobody lined up but a O-line coach. It took UT a couple hours to flip there new coach.

But, but, but Alleva said he was the search comittee. Same as Coach O said a couple weeks ago he wanted to recruit a prototype QB and then today said a dual threat QB.

I agree. We went for Herman. Texas opened up. Herman probably could have been gotten still, but if I were Alleva, I probably would have made the same decision and not gotten into a war with UT.

Yet you are a CEO. Does your people reserve the right to alter your frameworks?

After the debacle last year, and these coaches all talk to one another, no one was coming to put up with the political BS unless they were getting paid. Alleva has poisoned the well.

Exactly. No way Alleva gets to make these decisions on his own. Alleva did what he was told to do by the powers that be in control of him.

Alleva doesn't get paid 1 million a year to have no vision or spine.

O doesn't even have to be very good. He's conned a good half of the fanbase, hired marketing people, and has a media behind him.

O can go 6-6 every year and be nearly untouchable.

I was attempting to reference FKing or the BOS as CEO and Alleva using his skills to alter their perception of the situation, and thereby creating a different framework

So I will rephrase. As CEO do the people that work for you have the ability to come to you to alter the frameworks that you have established?

If yes, then Alleva should be competent enough o do the same. If no, then it doesn't really matter what LSU sports does
