Look at what he did at TT. He had them winning 9-10 regularly. Now he has WSU respectable with some signature wins. He could win anywhere. Mizzou and USCe should give him a look. Miami would be a great place for him too.

Eta big win against UCLA

Yeah, he finally won some games after sucking for 4 years. I would pump the brakes on him for a couple of seasons.

PR nightmare. I doubt many programs give him a look for that reason.

I think Leach is awesome, but he had one 10-win season in Lubbock and it took him 9 years to do it. Tech was a good fit for him and I think Wazzu is too. I'm not convinced he would win big at a bigger program.

In 10 years he never had a losing season at Tech. He won 11 games one year and had many 9 win seasons. He had many 8 win seasons. This record would make him a legend at Ole Miss but is unprecedented at Tech. Since he left no where near the same results.

I don't know if I'd call 3 9-win seasons "many". That included a lot of 4 and 5 loss seasons.

I'm not arguing that Leach didn't do great things at Tech. My family had season tickets during the Spike Dykes era...a 6 or 7 win machine, so you are correct about Leach's success there being unprecedented.

However, he was there for a decade and didn't take a bigger job during that time. He's also done a nice job with Wazzu, but I'm not sure he's done anything to warrant a higher-profile job now more than before. Who's to say he even wants to bother with one?

Granted there is still football to play but winning at WSU is harder than you think. Probably similar to Vandy.

he's hidden up there and i agree id love to see him a lessor tier school in a major conference

something like a Kentucky or south carolina or Mizzou would be great for him.

I know it's hard to win at Wazzu, but I don't think it's Vandy-level difficult. At least they've made a couple of Rose Bowls in the last 20 years. Paul Wulff left a nuclear disaster behind for Leach to clean up.

He would melt down massively in a big time program environment

Dude hates media and anyone questioning anything he does. How do you think he would fair on a big level area questioning his every move.

And unless you are winning 10 games a year, the media being on your side is extremely important as a new coach. The narrative being written one way or the other can cost you your job.

I could see this in a year or two if he keeps Wazzu above water and Stoops can't break through.

Leach is a Hal Mumme disciple though. Not saying it's right or wrong, but UK people might have some problems with that. Not sure.

Mizzou

Also mentioned in the OP and I like this suggestion. However, given the current shitstorm at Mizzou, their admins will probably pass on a former lawyer who got canned for "inappropriate treatment" of a player and sued the school.

Leach has a pad in Key West. That would work.

He's won at 2 sand schools. That doesn't always translate.
A lot of presidents won't put up with him either.
