Aren't you the one that said Les wasn't going to be fired yesterday and that you had connections? If so I'm not sure how much your opinion is worth.

His time at OM and USC has nothing to do with what happens the rest of this season. He admitted today the things he knows he did wrong and will change. Also, he actually did pretty good in his 8 games at USC, considering the situation.

I am assuming that they look very good from here on out considering the talent level and experience on the team. There is a lot more to coaching then taking over someone else's team and running out a season.
Yeah its a hell of a lot tougher to clean up someone else's mess

Unless the next hire is Herman, the guy will have an uphill battle to win over most fans. Just like Miles.

So many have hitched their wagon to Herman that if it isn't him no other coach will be accepted. Just as Miles was never accepted to many fans because he wasn't Nick Saban

I would be uncomfortable with him as the permanent head coach.

Are you saying you would be triggered? Well now, we can't have that.

O is better in the only thing Miles was good at. Recruiting. If O lets his OC be an OC then he's an immediate upgrade.

Ole miss was a loooong time ago and he still brought talent there. Who knows what happens if he gets another year or two but I'll give y'all that one. The USC situation he was phenomenal considering the turmoil at the time. Some USC Ppl wanted him to get the job and it hasn't really wked out well for em since not giving it to him. If he does well and hires a big name OC I'm good with it.

No matter who the coach will be you can never please certain people in this fan base. I think everyone should just sit back and watch the rest of the season.

And LSU Admin looks stupid contacting all of these Head Coaches during the season. None of them will bite and say anything right now. So why ask? Its dumb.

I'm saying even if LSU looks much better the remainder of this season, as I suspect they will, it won't prove he is suited to be the coach for the next 3+ years. He has not proven he can run a program year-to-year, which includes but is not limited to establishing an offensive and defensive philosophy, hiring and firing position coaches, finding and developing QBs, game-planning, dealing with boosters, etc..

Of course, the LSU fan mentality is and always has been knee-jerk. There were lots of people, including the damned Governor, that wanted Hunter to take over after he beat Arkansas in the season finale in '99.
