Pay whatever you need to pay. Basically by O being your next choice you had 2 homerun hires that you really wanted. Well if one of those is a young guy that you think may be the man that can build a dynasty you give him 6 million a year

The Market justified $6 million. He is the TOP guy on the market.

Herman is not a BIG BOY. Saban, Urban, Jimbo, Harbaugh... those are big boys. Herman is an up and comer. Could be the next Urban, could be the next Strong. Not worth 6 million currently. At least one smart move by LSU. Should have interviewed others including Fleck after that instead of giving it to O, but telling Herman to GTFO with that 6 mil talk was the right move.

You can't gamble with 6M for a guy like Herman, who is far from a guarantee.
