Good. He's been a HC for two years at a team like Boise st. He's lost to SMU, Navy, and Memphis, and his team has looked really bad in other games. He hasn't proved he deserves that type of money yet.

I doubt it was a money issue. It was a Herman favoring Texas over LSU issue that couldn't be resolved.

You guys' comments are actually justifying this stupid arse lowball hire. We will never again sniff a great coach without paying top market pricing. That is how this game works. No risk = 9 win ceiling. Enjoy.

This looks like Texas using the media to soften the blow for overpaying for herman.

I agree, Herman may be a 6 million guy in the future but he is not that type of guy today. I hope UT retains Strong or moves to another coach besides Herman. When the next talk of expansion occurs Herman will see that UH will not be offered. To me Herman is the biggest looser goi g forward.

Our fans look like fools. No one knows what the future holds so why not just sit back and see what happens

There is nothing in Herman's resume to justify paying him top dollar in the SEC. Would have been foolish.

Yeah! AWesome! We're not "overpaying" for some coach with incredible promise, we're going to go cheap for a coach no one else wanted!

Things did go as planned for him, this year. Let's be honest, he may have a huge upside, and he is by far a better coach than O, but 6 million is a lot, for a guy who hasn't proven much as a HC. Sure, he beat OU and Louisville, but he lost several games that he shouldn't have.
