It's a done deal according to numerous sources. Kiffy is a gone pecan.

I might be having a senior moment, but I thought he was thought to be the first choice last year???

Is there any actual links to this even being a possibility this year?

Reports Ryan Day from Philly might be Chip's OC. A former player for Kelly at UNH aka a perfect puppet.

I don't think the "style" is a reason Kiffin wouldn't be the hire, Pat Shurmur didn't run anything close to Kelly's offense before Philly. I however do think the caveat of Kelly calling the plays would be a bigger deal.

Shurmur had to rinse the stench of his Cleveland failure off, Kiffin doesn't. Shurmur just backed the wrong horse, hoping Kelly would lead him to another HC job.

today there are 49er insiders saying he's a possibility. First I've heard of it from that side. Stay tuned.

Would be a bad move. The Niners are so trigger happy, and Chip is, by all accounts, toxic.

well neither of those things are really true but it would still be an odd move

Sorry, I just want to clarify for my understanding.

Are you saying Kiffin is a possibility? Or one of the other candidates mentioned in this thread?

I am not that optimistic about Chip in San Fran, but willing to see if he can do some things with their qb.

I'd be surprised if he leaves Bama now for anything other than a HC job.

In actual 49er news, they offered Mike Vravel the DC job, which is crazy but awesome

Love Vravel, the fact that he's ousting Manginis bitch arse is even better

If you keep forgetting him at stadiums he might not like you as much.

Maybe he'd rather be an NFL coach though?
