It's still weird as hell. Has there ever been a coordinator that took a lateral position right before his team is playing for a national title?

In recent memory no. This is a special circumstance. Kiffin should be getting HC job offers all over the place like you said and if a normal coordinator didn't like the job offers he's almost always staying put as a coordinator at his school.

How much class does Kiffin lack that he can't even finish the season with a team in a playoff run?

I've heard it is a contract issue. Plus Saban already brought in Sark, perhaps it is not Kiffin who is making this call, Bama tards certainly think it is not.

Ideally, you want continuity in the playoffs.
This might be an unpopular statement on here, but I think there's a chance you guys can benefit from it. Sark may bring some new ideas that other teams aren't as prepared for and he'll have plenty of time to implement them. We'll see.

I'm sure the fact that we'll pay 2 million for a coordinator doesn't hurt either. Also Bama not wanting him back helps.

You're right. It's a definite wildcard. That first found matchup will be interesting.

I think its obvious Lane and Shorty Mctempertantrum are sick of each other's shite.

They're both assholes. It is known.

I can't understand him just up and leaving his team like that. No matter how much tension there is. He's in the middle of a championship run.

He can come to LSU and still coach the tide. He wouldn't be the first coach to do such a thing.

All I know is it doesn't help how people perceive him and he'd have zero problem doing it to LSU for a job.

Cutty Shark dialing it up for Bama. This would be way to funny if they lose there first game in the playoff w/o Kiffin. I'll be laughing. I bet the next time Kiffin goes back into Bama it will be dry. He'll want to beat Satan.

I think that would be a pretty unprecedented move. Coaches that remain at their school for a championship opportunity after taking another job are usually doing so after getting a promotion, not making a lateral move within their division. You're assuming Saban would even want him to stay and that's likely a stretch in this scenario also.

Listened to Saban's weekly Gump call in show. Nothing was even mentioned not that anything would be said by the midget dictator.
