How much would we have to pay Herman?

We've seen dynamic offensive geniuses fail as head coaches on the big stage b/c of crappy defense (Sumlin? Others.)

Would Herman be able to attract a top notch defensive coordinator?

Not against him, but there are questions.

I mean even at Houston he is pulling in 5* players, at freaking Houston

Because his brother goes there and they hired his high school coach. The rest of the class is Houston-like.
I don't think Herman sucks but unproven is risky.

What else does he need to prove? Just curious, not a flame. He looks like a winner to me.

Consistent results as a HC over multiple years.

Probably 3.5m

How many came from the same pedigree as Herman? Coached under a NC coach, won with his 3rd string, lead recruiter in a big conference before getting their first shot (2nd in Herman's case)

Probably bring guy from Houston with him Todd Orlando and maybe Major Applewhite to run the offense

By this time next year Herman is coaching in a power conference and LSU is not getting him... Get him now and not worry about it. LSU are adamant about Les needing to go anyway

I love Kelly. And Herman. I would take either one over Fisher.

Exactly. I feel we will pass on the next big winner in cfb if we pass on Herman. I don't want him recruiting against LSU at Texas or another SEC school.

If LSU grabs Kelly because he is a name over Herman then LSU is only going for the hire to save face. I can understand Jimbo over Herman because Jimbo is a former coach, won a national title, and has a track record with quarterbacks.

Look at the Saban and Miles hires. They were both WTF hires and panned out.

It would have to be made absolutely clear that Herman OWNS the offensive and Miles can not interfere.

What makes you think Les would do this?

Everyone keeps saying Saban.... The dude was on the NFL radar when LSU hired him. He was well known at the time and LSU grabbed him before anyone else would.

The difference is we didn't have the internet that reports every single rumor known to man nor did we have ESPN at the time telling us who would be the next "it" coach.

I didn't say he would, but he may be willing to save his job another year.

Herman should have been option 1 from the start

He is THE guy to get.

If it's not us, once he gets the call, he's gonna roll.

He should #1 on our list.
