Is there any realistic chance we end up with Herman?

I really don't think Jimbo comes and I do think it's time for a change.

Possible but I think they target Kelly to see his interest. I see Herman as 3rd choice

Even if he came to lsu as soon as ut opened up he would be gone. That might be as early as next year.

Have you checked the Advocate front page?

Fisher isn't coming.

I have no information outside my jack Daniels...

That being said; would it be plausible that we bring in Herman as OC / HC in waiting and let Miles coach the 2016 season? Two fold reasoning:

1.) We can retain our recruiting class.

2.) we get to vet Herman and give him a chance to gel into the program.

It would have to be made absolutely clear that Herman OWNS the offensive and Miles can not interfere.

Herman should have been option 1 from the start

He might be a great coach on the big stage one day, and soon, but he's got 12 games under his belt. He could be on the list but not option #1.

Herman is making something like 3 mil a year at Houston. He's not gonna give up all that money and take a demotion from HC to OC.

why leave a HC job for one "in waiting" when he can have his pick of offers as well. LSU is not the only school wanting him, hence why Houston offered him 3m a year.

He is proven in my opinion, he has proven he can recruit, he has proven he can coach, he has proven he can handle a program.
I mean even at Houston he is pulling in 5* players, at freaking Houston

What else does he need to prove? Just curious, not a flame. He looks like a winner to me.

Chip Kelly would be very risky.

SEC would find ways to shut that gimmicky offense down.

Plus, it's possible he's more stubborn than Les.

No thanks.
