Yes . No contest

To answer that is because he wants to get back in football and no one will hire him as a head coach with the baggage hanging over his head. He'll play hype offensive coordinator for several years and then when the media begins to forget he will move to a head coaching position again.

Not really.

I hve been reading about why Briles was fired and I am not sure he did anything wrong. He was approached by a coach that told him one of her players had been gang raped 9 months before. He made sure the school's judiciary committee had been informed, then told the coach that the police should immediately be involved.
He then followed up with the coach and asked if the police had been informed and was told that the young woman did not want to. Only one of the rapists was still in the program. He was already on suspension and never played a down of football again. The victims coach told investigators that Briles was helpful and had acted honorably.
There was another rape allegation and none of the potential rapists ever played again. Two were found guilty.
When an issue was brought to Briles attention, he made sure to send it to the judicial board of the school and tried to get the victim, or their representative to call police.
It seems as if he was fired to try and appease the public, and cover up some of the bad press about a possible rape culture at Baylor. Any University employee involved has been told not to do interviews and not to speak about anything they may know about.
Briles acted honorably and was pushed out as token appeasement for the masses.
This is what a little digging brings up. Have I missed something?

And LSU can put Briles in charge of the team disciplinary committee. That's a great idea. We can go from a "total class" coach to a "no class" coach in no time.

That's the whole point. Play the villain and start winning like a mofo. They will get over it and we will be running over people.

Try explaining that one to your daughter one day.

Why would he come be the OC here for 2 million ?
He's 60 years old. Yeah, he could hold out for a P5 HC gig, and he might get one - but, he could go the next 4 or 5 years with someone else (O) taking the heat at press conferences, on the recruiting trail and so forth.
I can see the attraction for him, particularly as he's viewed as damaged goods by many.

What facts would you like me to explain to her?
The facts show that he did nothing wrong. He made sure any allegations were reported and encouraged police involvement.
Link me to some facts that say otherwise.

Hiring briles would certainly improve the average of 0, I mean O, and Aranda (100).

Why would you want someone that covers up rape?

The facts show Briles did not do that.
Are you thinking of someone else?

The report stated that the findings "reflect significant concerns about the tone and culture within Baylor’s football program as it relates to accountability for all forms of athlete misconduct.
Baylor president Ken Starr and athletic director Ian McCaw also lost their jobs in the wake of the scandal.
So the President of the university, the AD and the head coach are ALL fired because of their innocence? Wake up.

What other major P5 School HC, with amazing talent already here, and the potential for more ever give him total 100% control over the offense that he wants to run? The answer is none.
Not aimed at the op on this: How hypocritical people are when it doesn't fit their ideals..... Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty in a court of law??? Hell..... LSU players have been getting away with crimes for years due to the fact they are players, but that's ok. If anyone for one second thinks shite doesn't get covered up at every major university, then you need to pull your head out of your arse!!!!
