Well, our head coach would be arguably the worst in the country, so they weights it down a little

It woudl be pretty wild.

But no

I woudl probably go with Saban Kiffin and Pruette

Aranda > Pruitt

Briles >>> Kiffin

but

Saban >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> O

Also Michigan aint bad either.

Aranda = Brown both elite DCs
Harbaugh >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> O
Briles >>>>>>>>>>> Drevno

but if he allows the coordinators to run their units and just recruits his arse off and says go tigers at the end of interviews he may be extremely successful

Staff would be very good, however Briles was making 4-5 million a year at Baylor. Why would he come be the OC here for 2 million ?

Obviously he left Baylor with a lot of baggage and isn't on the top of the Eagle Scout list... just asking a question.

Absolutely and it's not even close. This is coming from me one of the biggest anti O guys on this board. I would be fully behind O at that point.

The foundation that was set by Ponamsky and Alleva would allow to hiring of Briles. Hire HC for less than market rate so you can bring in top cordinators theory would work perfectly with Briles, and Aranda.

Damn! It would be a tough staff to beat and I can't imagine the offensive talent that would want to come here...mainly qbs

He settled with Baylor for almost his entire contract amount IRCC.

I have no idea if Briles is even in the picture, but he is done has a head coach. Probably forever. His only shot is taking an assistant position and "rehabbing" his image.

LSU would be taking some heat hiring him, but nothing compared to the shite any school that hires him as head coach would take.

OC at LSU would probably be the absolute best case scenario for him.

This is the truth.
It's best case for him since he'd be one of the highest (if not the highest) paid OC.
He'd have an enormous amount of offensive talent to work with.
He'd have two QBs (knock on wood) who aren't scarred by Miles in the least (plus Scott).

And it's best case for us because we aren't worried about him bolting for a HC position (unless an epic "re-image" happens).
And the reputation he brings (as a QB developer and all around offensive guru) will draw recruits more than a lesser known (Lincoln Riley type) OC.
In this case there's absolutely no such thing as bad press.

Well head coach would be in charge of getting the groceries.

Briles and Aranda would just be doing their thing...... I wouldn't oppose this.

Because I doubt Briles gets a legit HC opportunity

He could lay low a little even as OC

Some media may cry but not like if he went HC

It makes a lot of sense

Not same but people wouldn't care if Alabama hired him as a consultant

We win and he can repair his image slowly and people will move on

The head coach is supposed to let his coordinators call the plays. That's what got les fired. He refused to let his coordinators call the plays and when it went wrong he fired them like it was their fault.

No our Coach is NOT the worst in the country. Leadership, recruiting, energy, and hiring great assistants to coach and call the plays are the keys to big time winning.
