Saban to Texas could be a real possibility. Think about it Texas has more money to offer than most schools, Austin compared to Tuscaloosa no contest. Recruiting in Texas would be easier than at Alalbama you practically never have to leave the state. To me Saban would really fit in Texas with his ego.

I can't think of any really good reason for Saban to leave Bama at all, but I have a weird feeling about this offseason, especially if the Tide were to lose one of the next two..

I disagree with JUST 4. I would also say they would be a fool to not call Gary Patterson. e can flat out recruit and coach. He would be an excellent fit in Austin.

Why wouldn't you put Harbaugh on the table if Shaw is a candidate? Sure, he's in San Fran and likely loves the NFL, but Texas money can be very comforting.

I don't know what coaches the horns would call but I do feel like Mack is likely to retire after this season.

The radio in Austin has been hammering the fact that he is 11-14 in conference games over the past few years. That does not get it done at Texas when they think they have the best talent and they all know they play in a weak conference. He just is not getting it done anymore.

Yep. He'll get the money either place but that would be HUGE for his ego.

For everyone saying winning at Texas would enhance his legacy, it wouldn't.

Every job he has taken as been a step "up" professionally, all the way to the NFL, where he realized he didn't like it.

Bama was a major gig that he could fall back into. Texas has its advantages but from a perception standpoint they are in the same stratosphere with Bama, Michigan, USC, etc. So it would be viewed by the public as a lateral move--at best. And it wouldn't look good.

Saban has entered legacy mode. He knows the best legacy will be to stay at Alabama.

I have read that a lot of big boosters have called for his head post ou and nothing he did would change their mind.

It wouldn't surprise me if Texas pursue Gary Anderson Utah state. He is a defensive minded guy who runs the spread and has done an incredible job of building that program up

Don't lie "chicken". you dream of stuff like this don't you?

Saban is at the greatest college football program in the nation, and he knows what he's got. You can bet that.

In 4 years he would have Texas at a level much higher than he has Alabama at currently. He's not leaving.. but you can at least recognize the reality that he would at least consider it.

That's another thing I keep hearing that is rubbing booster wrong. Mack is trying to move to a physical pro style and the transition has been bad so far. Meanwhile Texas am has an up and coming coach winning with a spread attack in the sec.

I would be pissed after the Oklahoma game also if I was a horn fan because players basically came out and said they were never physical in practice and that's why they get dominated.

I bet a lot of booster don't like Mack's direction and are trying to influence a retirement for him. The only thing in Mack's favor is Deloos dods seems loyal and willing to give one more year.

First, I don't think he's leaving for anywhere but Lake Burton. Second, how could he improve upon what he's done the last five years at Alabama? He is 59-7 in that time period with two national titles. There have only been a handful of runs in college football on that level. He'll also have chance to play for three national titles in four years, with a win against Georgia on Saturday. Only 1994-1997 Nebraska can claim that.
