He's a good coach. He LOVES seniors. I think he rewards the seniors with extra playing time. I would go with whoever is hot at the time but we have a ton of depth at RB and he seems to keep them all happy while winning in the process. The Mad Hatter has balls too, I'll give him that! I certainly don't blame him for wanting to go back home and coach his alma mater. I find it refreshing that the $$$$$ aspect means very little to him. It's all about pride and passion!!
BTW, Welcome. It will be good to have someone on the board to give us some Big 10 insight.

Wow.
Don't know what I said to incite some of the comments.
We were pissed at Saban for leaving and not real pleased with Miles initially. He has grown on a lot of us in spite of questionable decisions and less than articulate press conferences. We at LSU want a coach who will win with the abundent talent we have and stay at LSU. So we are a little touchy.

That's the one! Only 2 vowels in the whole name and completely unpronounceable. Only thing missing are some silent 'e's. He'll fit in with the brats crowd up there. I love it! (and Les can stay)

You didn't say anything to get the grief you are getting. The Tiger Nation is just a little sensitive right now. The talk should be about a second championship opportunity in just 5 years, and how a 3rd championship and 10/11 SEC championship really puts LSU in the top 10/12 Elite programs and not just in the top 15. But instead it is all about Les and UM, and that talk has a way of hijacking seasons. So its not you, it is the situation. IMO - if Les is offered he is gone to Ann Arbor, but UM may look elsewhere. Good luck with you next coach.

Miles is the second worst coach in the SEC after Coach Shrek. Please spread the word in Ann Arbor.

That can be said about all coaches.

How is Spurrier doing with top-20 talent, what about Pete Carroll this year?

If anyone believes this dufus is a legitimate "Wolverine," then boy do I have some real estate to sell you. I mean read the damn thing -- carefully"

I know you have the stickied topic at the top regarding Miles to Michigan talk.

My thread is more about Les Miles the coach.

I've tried to watch as much LSU football the last 2 years, fully knowing that he was the most likely replacement of Lloyd Carr.

I'll tell you straight up, i've never thought of him as a good coach. So I come to you with some help.

Is Les Miles a good coach or more a product of the talent at LSU?
Also, does LSU's large sum of penalties have to do with lack of discipline from Coach Miles? Or is it more SEC refs picking on the big boys?

From the games i've seen, Les has made some questionable decisions. Sure, he's gambled and gotten some key 4th down conversions but, some of those games never should have come down to that.

For instance, in the VT game, the Hokies wanted nothing to do with Keiland Williams. After that dominating game, he rarely saw any carries in the next few games. Why is that?

In the Kentucky game, Scott was ripping the Cats apart in the 1st half. He rarely saw the field the rest of the way. Why?

I hope I haven't offended any of you guys with these questions. I'm just curious. I wish you guys the best of luck. I hope this isn't a distraction in your march to a national title. Whether you keep Les, or he comes to Michigan, I will continue to cheer you guys on!

P.S: I hope Ohio State sneaks into the title game. I'd love to see another SEC team beat the living crap out of sweatervest Bucks. Sure they look tough beating up on my team but, they wouldn't stand a chance against you guys.

Appreciate your kind words and support. Don't take anything personal here. If you receive bad comments it is just because your team currently is a threat to our future.

look at saban les. if you are happy in br stay, u might not find happiness in ann arbor. i know u played there and you can stil love mich. but if your happy here than don't mess with a good thing. just think les when we get pissed at u for either losing a game or a bad coahing decision you can laugh it off or get mad. if the same thing happenes in mich and fans aren't happy with u the nwhere would u go. what i'm saying is wait untill u hate us and then leave

At times I feel like we (LSU) are the ugly duckling that has turned into the beautiful swan, yet we keep getting those that think another swan that is older could be more beautiful if they were there.

I don't think Miles is going to leave.

If Carr has a say in the hiring, then you'll get more of the same inbred crap. Some of the alumni up there need to get their collective asses in gear and prevent the stupid AD and university administrators from letting Carr choose his successor. That never works. You guys need to get MAD!
