Thanks geniuneLSUTiger.

I worry whether he can bring good coordinators here. Michigan has become a joke with the "keep it in house" mentality. It's like incest in the coaching ranks.

he's good, not great, but you need a budget to get top assistants

he will tinker with gameplans if those gameplans come from coaches that aren't his hires

he's getting a "Gambler" label, but he's pretty conservative

he comes off as an absolute retard in media situations

he's a much better fit for UM than LSU. UM has lower expectations, can win more with less talent, and is in a much lesser conference. also the style of play les wants is a better fit for the slow10

They wanted nothing to do with any of our players. It was not KW that stole the show. He doesn't get the carries because he doesn't block worth a shite, so everytime he is in the backfield, the defense knows it will be a run.

quote:

In the Kentucky game, Scott was ripping the Cats apart in the 1st half. He rarely saw the field the rest of the way. Why?

He had a few carries in the second half, but for little or no yardage. The defense keyed on him, so the coach made a smart decision to use other backs.

I'll tell you straight up, i've never thought of him as a good coach

He is something like 32-5 at LSU. If he is not a good coach, he wouldn't have won that many games. He is a great recruiter, hires the right coordinators, and is a great person in general (values).

Is Les Miles a good coach or more a product of the talent at LSU?

Also, does LSU's large sum of penalties have to do with lack of discipline from Coach Miles? Or is it more SEC refs picking on the big boys?

About Williams and Scott getting less carries, that's a very touchy subject around here. The majority opinion is that they aren't seniors while Jacob Hester is. Not to say Hester isn't good, b/c he is THE MAN. But Les is very loyal to his seniors.

See Justin Vincent last season.

btw, I'm still wondering where C. Scott and K. Williams are.. although they did see the field more last week. The Kentucky game was a complete boner. Why C. Scott didn't play is still unknown and the excuse Miles gave was puzzling. (UK adjusted to the plays that we run him in or something. So instead we run the option to Hester)

Sounds like Tennessee. I live in Knoxville and the current staff has been with the Vols for fifteen plus years. They place a high premium on keeping it in-house and their program has become predictable and stale because of it. I think programs need new blood to shake things up every now and then.

Sorry wolverinefan it's a touchy subject right now down here. The man is a good coach and a emotional coach. He loves his players and stands by them(note the depth chart issues). He's emotions have won us a few games with some of the calls he has made. Everything is working in our favor this year so far. If Michigan offers Miles will go HOME is HOME, so well see, and to save face on here

There is no doubt that the SEC is tougher than the Big Ten. You won't get a disgreement out of me there, despite the Big Ten having a 13-10 advantage in bowl games since the BCS was implemented in 1998.

He's always had speech problems. Had a tumor in his brain removed a while back.

I know some of you might by jumpy at losing him but, there's lots of speculation in Ann Arbor that Carr is not a big fan or Les.

In '95 when Carr was named interim HC, Les left the program and went to Okie State. That's puzzling.

Make no mistake Tiger nation, if Carr has a say in the hiring, you'll probably keep Les Miles.

Nothing. You came to the rant. Maybe you should have lurked for a little while before posting so you would know what you were getting in to.

Also, don't take this board as representative of the entire LSU fanbase. Most of us are very pleasant.

Good luck to you in your coaching search and future seasons, whether it be with Les or someone else.

Wow. Just wow.

Why all the insults to this guy? The guy asks a few simple questions. You act like your answers will affect the outcome of their coaching decision.

Why would you want to represent LSU like that by insulting the guy for no reason?

Totally classless.

Welcome to Tigerdroppings. You need to have thick skin around here.

Miles is a very good leader and as someone mentioned, he's a great CEO coach.

"in the SEC"...just added that for you. Hell yes he is a good coach. He is better than Blow Shembechler who nover won the big one. that is pathetic. coached for 20 years and nvever won a NC. Bear won it 6 times in 24 years, how could you ever compare Blow to coach Bryant? You can't, so for all you yankee pukes, Miles is a better coach the BS already.

Terrible. Awful. We can't stand him. Actually, just read some of the threads around here. Those Miles bashing threads may come in handy yet.

I'm not sure how legit of a candidate Tedford is. I've heard his name pop up a few times and to be honest, i'm kind of shocked.

The other leading candidate seems to be Carolina Panthers DC Mike Trgovac. Another player under Bo. He's a real good buddy of Lloyd Carr.

The other name popping up here, is someone most of you probably aren't too familiar with. Brian Kelly, HC of Cincinnati. He won a national title in division 2 with Grand Valley State, turned around Central Michigan, and has done a great job at Cincy this year. He has strong ties to the state of Michigan.
