I don't know what's in Jack Del Rio's mind but if he were to accept a college gig, USC is likely to be at the top of his list.

Orgeron was was in consideration for a job at LSU in 2008 but decided to join Lame Kiffin a Tenn instead:

quote:

Orgeron, who was defensive line coach for the New Orleans Saints, accepted the position of recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach along with the title of associate head coach after a face-to-face meeting with Kiffin despite being close to accepting a similar deal with LSU to stay in his home state the day before.

So why did he interview for the USC job?

He can't get any less out of more as DL coach than Brick Haley does.

I know for a fact it wasn't an interview. Same with Miles and Michigan before Hoke. Was more of an I'm not interested but here is who I would go with. Jack is a stand up guy and would have accepted it already to begin recruiting.

Was just fixing to start a thread asking same (and including Bo Pellini).

Yeah, Ed O is a great recruiter. His record speaks for itself.

Even if he wasn't a rising star and probably deserves a HC job somewhere just because of the recruiting and experience, I can only see one place for him at LSU. And that would take Frank Wilson up and leaving (god forbid).

That's what I was thinking back to. Bound to be some bad blood after that incident.

There was. Can't find any info but I recall O publicly stating he "hoped" that he didn't burn any bridges at LSU by going to Tenn. But it goes even beyond that. Its been reported that he was instrumental in convincing Joe McKnight to go to USC after he eliminated OM when bey bey was the HC there. I don't trust the guy even if he is a good coach and recruiter.

Let me be clear. There are two kinds of people in Louisiana. One that love lsu and others that hate LSU. Ed ( Erectile Dysfunction ) is the chief cheerleader in the camp that hates LSU. The guy might take the LSU job just to comit a recruiting violation that lands us in probation. That is the extent to which the man hates us. Besides, he does not have any morals, integrity or character. He is a sorry excuse for a human being, let alone a coach.

Yaway Yaway football! Yaway yaway football!

Anyway he was offered a job by Miles, which he accepted before renaging, to go and share the same underware with Kiffin.

If you didn't know it already, you would have thought the same thing about Stud.

And didnt he take the DB from Barbe with him (that was an LSU commit)? hired his dad as an assistant of something? Somebody rehash this story for those of us with bad memories. It was a typical O/Kiffin move.

Orgeron comes in and takes over DL. (And Recruiting Coordinator) Brick moves to to LB's. (Where he played in college) Chavis coaches DB's.

This x 1000. I remember when he was at Ole Miss challenging guys to fight and just randomly tackling Ole Miss players. Guy is a fricking nutjob.

He's a good D line coach and a great recruiter. I'd love to have him on the staff, but the only role he could fill would be Brick. And Brick is just as good coach and a decent recruiter on his own.

It hurts today with the Hootie news, but I don't want him at LSU unless Brick leaves and Chavis signs off on it.

That being said, he will be D line coach and recruiting coordinator at USC. What coach wouldn't keep him on?
