Does anyone have any shred of evidence that interest exists or a connection has been made?

Because I think Spurrier is just keeping his hand in play for a couple more years, then he's done. No way he leaves SC.

And no way we should want him: he wont be around for long, and LSU desperately needs stability.
Plus, his days as an innovative offensive mind are over. He was considered innovative in the 90s, not in this day of spread option offenses.

I don't think RP would be too happy with a regime change either.

this is true, but spurrier isn't exactly mangino

the guy looks 43, not 63

and bowden can still recruit with the best of em

we will see. just remember this thread

He's my top choice too, but there's no way this is a done deal. And I do not foresee a time in the near future where LSU promotes a coordinator with no HC experience as the head guy.

First year 0-11, then 8-4, 9-3, 5-7, 5-7. 6-5.

If we spot Sylvester the first year, Spurrier's 7-5, 8-5, 6-6 is only about 1% better.

If Spurrier comes, so is Strong. I'd take Strong and Spurrier.

I asked this in another thread but it got whacked. Is there any credible information out there that Miles to Michigan is likely to happen after the SEC Championship game? Also, is there anything more than just message board speculation that SOS would be interested in LSU?

Meh. See Bobby Bowden. Recruits flock to legends, no matter how old.

Just heard an Arkansas columnist interviewed on
Sportstalk in Knoxville. SOS and Lane Kiffen(?) are among names mentioned in Arkansas. Further mention of SOS w.r.t. LSU led to agreement that he would probably prefer LSU.

I think RP would be ecstatic about a regime change. would probably get at least 3 more chances if new coaches.

As a friend of mine, just today said, we've not had a coach for more than 5 seasons since Mac. It's just not anything remotely the norm to keep a coach for more than 6 or 7 years ANYWHERE, so why not? I don't like SOS -- I don't like him at all. However, if we get an SEC championship or two, couple more 10-11 win seasons maybe I won't mind so much.
