You mean he has limited ambition? Who knew.

You're too blinded by your blue and gold goggles. It's more irrational and illogical to believe that a Super Bowl caliber coach would seek out a college position, Michigan or otherwise. I'm not delusional to think that LSU or Penn State would be a better spot than head coaching a team to the biggest game in the US. Now he may very well go to Michigan, but don't think that we're the ones that are not seeing the why behind this move.

Seems pretty simple to me. He prefers to work in college. He isnt the only one. Just because he has had success in the pros doesnt change that.

First I could be blinded by my maize and blue goggles. I believe what people who know way more about the situation than me and you have said.

Second Lsu and or Penn state are not Michigan. I realize that the last 10-15 years in baton rouge has been great.. but if we didnt play another game of football LSU would have as many wins as us in about 20 years give or take. We have tradition. I also strongly believe that if Harbaugh had not played at Ann Arbor we would not be having this discussion. His idol was Schembechler watch videos of him speaking about bo or michigan he loved that man and wants to be him..

I'm not saying Michigan is a better job than the NFL.

What I'm saying is for this particular coach in this instance I think going to Michigan makes a lot more sense than a lot of people think.

This is almost 2015. Fielding Yost has been dead for almost 70 years.

And bo has been dead for 8.. but you still know Yosts name.. I bet you can tell me what Michigans helmet looks like and just about anyone anywhere that watches football can describe it. I bet you could whistle a few bars of victors.. Carr won 78% Bo won 80% that was in the last 30 years. The difference between LSU and Michigan is about 5 national titles and we did have Yost and of the 70 games we played more than you in the history of both programs I believe we won about 175 of them (oops).

And the only young people that give a shite about your tradition are fat white kids from the Midwest. It holds no sway whatsoever in modern cfb.

I believe you unfortunately in the last 30 years how many times has LSU out recruited michigan? I bet its less than 10. Do some research, let me know.

Because I know a little bit about college football.

Mention the name "Fielding Yost" to some 17 year old Five Star and your likely response will be "Who?".

Kids don't give a shite about what happened 70 years ago and beyond. They look at what's happening today. And I know you're proud of your program, but today, Michigan is no more special than any other program. Sorry.

Probably almost every year since 2000. If not by recruiting rankings, by results on the field.

Before 2000, I'd say Michigan.

You are missing the point. The OPs purple glasses are blinding him. Michigan still pulls in way more than their fair share of 4/5 star athletes. Michigan is still a recognized name and the tradition is what makes it that way. Michigan nearly played for a national title in 2006, your years are off.

I just looked it up and LSU has finished higher in rivals' recruiting rankings every year since 2000 with the only exceptions of 2005, when LSU was going through a coaching change, and 2012.

If Harbaugh is indeed taking the Michigan position why hasn't he done so already? It's a foregone conclusion that his time with the 49ers is up, so why not get to Michigan and get started on recruiting?

Full disclosure: I'm not trolling, I do like the prospect of Harbaugh at Michigan. I give it 3 years before Meyer starts having "Health Issues" again.

I think my years are on.

LSU played in 3 actual title games in that period. Not "nearly"
