If you do a Google search on the guy and type, Bret Bielema i_______, Google finishes it out as Bret Bielema is a douche. Number three on the list is Bret Bielema is a jerk.
Seriously, this guy is a world class yankee arsehole and honestly, I cannot imagine a worse fit for a 75% Baptist state. Yeah, Petrino was an arse, but from all accounts, he actually dealt with people professionally and was nice if you met him, just not the most personable guy. But, Bielema is by ALL ACCOUNTS just about the biggest dick you'll ever meet anywhere.

Petrino was able to succeed at Arkansas because he had a huge coaching edge. Arkansas either needed a big time recruiting or a guy like Petrino who gave them that competitive coaching edge.
They got neither. You can point to his big 10 record all you want, but you're lying to yourself if you really think this was a good hire. Improvement over John Elle I guess though.....

How is it even a good hire? They do not have the personnel to run his system now, the state doesn't produce a ton of recruits either. They need somebody with ties to Texas and Louisiana instead they hire one of the worst recruiters in the big ten. He is Houston nutt all over again. Same offense, same recruiting ability, same work ethic .

I've never liked Bielema, but it's always been because he comes across as a giant arse. But he wins a lot of football games. I think this is a really good hire.
