If Aranda and Herman are in fact friends, wouldn't Aranda's experience in Baton Rouge play a huge role in Herman's decision?

Even if Herman thought that he wanted to go to Austin, if Aranda tells Herman about the talent in the state, the game day experience in Tiger Stadium, etc., that's got to play a role.

Point being...if we want Herman, it can't hurt to show Aranda what Tiger Stadium is all about.

All about the $$$$. It's all about Texas season at this point.

These adult men are not teenage girls. Herman has built his whole career to coach at Texas. He is not coming here as much as we would like him to. If he does he will jump to Texas eventually.

No. Herman will go where he wants regardless of friends. If you believe this is a factor, you should be worried that Texas might pull Aranda there if Herman gets hired. Both are equally possible. I think both guys will coach where they think is the best place for them. Just my opinion.

Les Miles and Cam Cameron were friends = LSU fans say they must go and it's a BBQ staff....

Herman and Aranda are friends....HIRE HIM NOW AND EXTEND ARANDA FOR 10 YEARS!!!!!!!

Not saying he comes here because they are friends...read people.

Saying that because they are friends that they talk. Aranda has now been here. He's likely to provide insights that Herman trusts/values.

I LOVE LSU. I have to be honest though, if anything he may pull Aranda to Austin if anything. Games at UT are on equal footing with BR and it is a lot nicer place to live with less taxes. I am not feeling good about any of this.

Aranda will have nothing to do with Herman coming to LSU or not.

There are only a handful of jobs that would be "better" than the Lsu job. Unfortunately texas (and possibly USC) would be in that short list. Hopefully texas wins 9 games and can't fire strong after the year. Aranda could easily head to texas if they start chunking cash.

I agree Austin is more appealing than BR, but less taxes??? I highly doubt it.

No state income tax on several million dollars of salary will not come close to being offset by higher property taxes.

People seem to forget Texas didn't get exactly who they wanted last time even beyond Saban. That job and program has been I. The gutter for a while. If it was only about money they can pull any coach in the country, but there is more to it than that.

Herman is going to Texas. The writing is on the wall. The only people who can't see it are LSU fans.

LSU is a more desirable job than Texas or A&M in the eyes of coaches who want to build a legacy and sustainable national powerhouse.

This...facilities can match up with anyone in the country, LSU is the only large D1in a state with an unbelievable amount of talent within a 200 mile radius.

If you are a coach, you fence off the state and pull a couple players from the surrounding states and you build a powerhouse. There is no other school similarity situated in the SEC or Big XII. You are only competing with yourself at this point.

If all you want is money, there are other places where you can make more, but if you're a coach who cares more about things other than money, then LSU is "THE" destination.
