So was Pete Carroll. How's he doing now?

Or Dungy or Cowher? This rumor makes absolutely zero sense.

It's just a rumor. 5 year $55 million with 4% ownership. Would be the first contract of it's kind.

Are the Browns worth $1 billion? That would be pretty close to a 9-figure deal. I'm wondering if Sexton is floating that as an alternative ($100 million is a lot to guarantee in cash).

Do you have to work very hard to be this clichéd? It seems that you'd come up with something original at some point, even if it's just by accident.

Hey BamaNix maybe you are just getting too close to all this...ultimately after all it is just supposed to be about fun, right?

But I know what you are perhaps going through. I remember the first time this kind of rumor came up about Saban leaving for the NFL after our 2003 BCS championship nothing came of it, at least for then. It did happen a year later and I thought what happened after Christmas really sucked when Saban left for the Dolphins. We got over it for awhile. What really sucked was when he decided to come back to coach one of our rivals 3 years after going to Miami.

For Alabama I don't really think it is likely Saban will even leave you this year. But maybe he is thinking about it again. The thing about Saban is that he is so relentless about having a process of improvement and advancement is that he is always looking for a challenge. When he begins to feel "less challenged", ( I did not say stale) he may just decide to move on. He is just totally consumed by achievement. Unlike Bob Stoops, who seems to recognize a good fit and is content/satisfied with his arrangement at OU.

But remember this also...even if Saban does leave Alabama, you will have not faced his ultimate form of deception until and if he comes back from the NFL to coach one of your rivals...like Auburn for instance. It would probably be too late in his career for that to happen but stranger things have happened before, you never know.

He actually paid $1.05B. 4% of that would be $42M. No coach - not Saban, not Cowher, not Belichick, not Lombardi himself - is getting 4% ownership of the team GIVEN to him for simply agreeing to coach. This rumor (more so even than the Saban to LSU, PSU, OSU, USC, WVU, Texas, Cowboys rumors) is beyond ridiculous if for no other reason than the 4% that some idiots are claiming is part of it.

If Saban or any coach takes the Browns job and is given 4% ownership in order to do so, I'll never post on this site again. Ban bet. Who is willing to ban bet that he DOES take the job?

Nobody said they believe this rumor. I've only stated what was being thrown out there.

The odds are in your favor, why would anyone take that bet?

Well, based on the number of people continuing to entertain the validity of this rumor, it appears there is a plethora of stupid people here. Stupid people usually believe things even when the odds are drastically against them (ie Saban leaving after this yr).

Saban is smart enough to learn from previous mistakes (ie those in Miami).

Saban is gone after they win the NC this year, because it is his nature. It is that simple. Browns offer or no browns offer. I Really don't understand why that is hard for you gumps to understand. I told you that when you hired him. You are that fricking special that you can turn a person into something he is not. He has won you three freaking NC and he is gone. Could you really have ask for more. Get over it.

Browns have a decent qb, decent o-line, good rb they need some wr's. Defense is not completely void of talent. Their is potential in Cleveland and i believe saban doesn't want the bad rep he got in Miami being his NFL legacy.

Look at carroll this year. Saban could return, turn around the browns and really establish himself as a great coach.

You're the one popping off. Why does someone have to bet you? Bet yourself!
