No. Not saying they are lying. I'm saying the rumor comes from two guys on local radio in a small media market. It isn't being reported by ESPN, which is obviously a national report.
I've talked to several coaches who all say he will listen to offers but he's highly likely to return to Bama. I'm basing my opinion on those conversations. If he leaves, he leaves. He will be missed but Bama will move on an wish him well. Bama is in much better position to replace him than we were any other coach in the past 30 years. That said, most expect him to stay another few years and retire at Bama. Just because he's left other jobs doesn't make it a given h leaves this one. He's older now. He's state at Bama longer than any other job he's ever had. I moved a lot early in my career - always for a better job. I'm where I want to be now (but id listen to offers, just not likely to take it unless it is incredible). Perhaps the coaches are right and he is too.

Are you saying that two local guys on a Baton Rouge ESPN affiliate are likely to have scooped EVERYONE on this story? What are you basing this on other than your usual idiocy?

Which is why I said we'll have to wait and see if this surfaces anywhere in the next few days.

I don't know one way or another but 104.5 has a good track record and I doubt they would just make something like this up.

Do they though? Do they really?

I doubt they made it up. The person who told them probably heard it from a guy who overheard the person that made it up.
If Cleveland has this much money to spend, why in the hell would they go after Saban? They could get ANYBODY with that kind of offer, including established NFL coaches with Super Bowl rings. This just sounds like bullshite to anyone with a brain.

Yes, they do.

I see. So, who would know better about their fantastic reputation than ESPN, seeing as they are an ESPN affiliate? So, obviously, ESPN is running with this story as it comes from such a reputable affiliate, right?

i call bullshite.....Browns are dumb if true. Still say $atan isn't going anywhere.

Since when did you care about a reputable source?

Uh huh. Because terrified people use logic to counter arguments. Honestly, if this had even the slightest hint of truth to it, ESPN would be reporting it. They aren't, so it doesn't. It's pretty simple.

We'll see how this thing goes.

you joined for the cam story...you read it, i'm sure all your first post were about auburn. So were you part of the tider insider wave or bama mag?
Like i say, when did you start caring about reputable sources?

I have seen pro teams make worse calls

You caught me, Matlock. I read the Cam story! Therefore...something! I'm pretty sure that you read it all too, so it looks like we're partners in crime.
Like I say, quit deflecting and defend the argument. You're doing something called "shooting the messenger," which is a pretty common logical fallacy, usually committed by people who don't really have a quality argument to make.
I could do the same thing, in this sort of manner: You're an Auburn fan, so when did you start caring about teams hiring a decent coach?
See, I'm not making a logical argument. Instead, I'm just pointing out that your last two coaching hires have been terrible.

If they had that much money to spend, we'd be hearing about other coaches putting their hats in the ring for the job.
